I wouldn't mind trading Pavel. He is obviously on the decline, and teams will still break the bank for him. Sell his playoff choking and lack of leadership while he is still somewhat valuable.

You Would.... how bout that choke in a clutch Bert... Love the way he FINISHED that break away tonight..... Just awesome!

I just want the ******* mule back.

It's games like this when he shines. No one is scoring? The team is making the other goalie look like hasek or roy...Mule comes out and puts one right under the cross bar then does it again the next shift. Ahhh, can't wait till february/march.

Some quick thoughts about the game tonight:

1. As I say during every game, Meech is not an NHL player. There is no point on elaborating.

2. Lebda actually did not do completely terrible tonight.

3. Is it really that hard to hit the net?

4. We get "Conk-Blocked" in our own building by our ex-goaltender..ouch.

5. Jimmy Howard's play

6. Datsyuk ???? What is going on with him?

6. Justin Abdelkader had a pretty solid game.

7. May in the line up and no fight?

8. Bertuzzi - .....not even worth it

9. :starwars2:

10. I wonder what the streak for Mickey Redmond voicing his opinion of composite sticks is at....

Anything you guys think is note-worthy?

Don't be so sure.....

Often times players just aren't the same after returning from an ACL injury.

We miss you, Conks

Uh yeah sort of, but I hope you're not implying in any way that the goalies were the difference in this game. Howie played amazing.. Conks made some big saves but he also stopped about 30 shots with his chest.

It's really frustrating to watch an entire team that looks like they forgot how to score. Even on breakaways they don't seem to score more than maybe 1 out of every 10 attempts.

I'm trying to think positive.. our PK is on a good roll. Howard like I said is playing great.. Lidstrom had 2 shots in the post. He's going to score soon. Uh.. 4th line was good.

One of the positives that we can take out of this game is that Abdelkader got a lot of quality minutes on the top lines which should get a long way towards his progression. I don't think the second line looked any worse with him centering it than it did with Filp centering it.

7 game win streak my ass. Can the Red Wings make it clear what the f*** they are gonna do this year. Tank or play hard. None of this teeter-totter crap.

It's like a love interest playing hard to get. I could take it if they completely stunk this year and had non-stop losses, but this win thrown in every three or four games is just toying with my emotions. I'm beginning to think that they only have enough energy, drive, and hunger for one game out of every four or five, the rest of which are spent storing up their resources for the next distant win and meant to make the other team, especially the goalie look like hockey elite. And I'm ready to go postal on any and all NHL refs if we get ripped off just one more time . . .

I miss those games. I know what you are talking about. Maybe Mule is the clutch/MVP of the team. I think losing him 3 games in set the tone for the season.

If we continue to play like this, we are NOT making the playoffs. Stop saying, "Oh everything's fine, they'll make it, you're not a real Wings fan". Just stop. How are we going to make the playoffs if we can't win games against teams we've dominated in the past? Better yet, how the hell can we win games if we suck on home ice?

I felt we sincerely deserved to win tonight, which puts the "deserved to win but didn't" column at 3 by my count.

Yeah all and all the wings played a pretty good night. I mean 42 shots on net will usually get you something up on the scoreboard. What is that though like the 3rd time this year where we got shutout after putting up atleast 35 SOG?

Yup. I hate when my fanhood is being questioned just because I am not being an Optimist.

Pavs had a couple shots tonight Just like Bert..... Bert had a ONE ON THE GOALIE.... and stuffed it up his own rear end....

Bertuzzi created the best scoring chance of the night with his amazing breakaway speed. All Datsyuk did was lose face-offs and turn over the puck. Great showing from one of our "best players".

You don't deserve to win when your shot selection is atrocious and the quality chances you DO get glide over the top of the net. The Wings deserved to lose tonight. Powerplay is ridiculously bad for all the 'so called' talent.

speed? he was coming out of the box..... YOU should of been able to have a break away from there.

But did our "Best Player" finish his break away did he score???? NOPE!!!!!!!! He did nothing better than anyone else.... he was just as average as all the other guys out there..

Sarcasm much? What break away speed. I saw the speed of a sloth.
