I'm predicting a Gordie Howe hat trick tonight for Leino.

Who's with me?

I'm hoping for one... he's better than this.

I'd be satisfied with a finished check.

I know the NHL's stat for hitting isn't the best, but you can still get a general idea of how much a guy hits with it. Ville Leino has 9 hits in 35 games, having played 490 minutes and 50 seconds on the ice.

Ugh.

Edit: For the sake of comparison:

Franzen, who is criticized for being soft here, has 11 hits in 3 games.

Meech has the same number of hits a Leino, but in only 23 games, and with 277:21 TOI.

Sure Leino shouldn't be running people over, but a certain compete level is always nice.

God, you guys are such pessimists.

If you don't have anything positive to say about a player, just don't post at all.

Have you turned into a Leino fanboy? :siren::blink:

If that were the truth... I don't think anyone would know who Lebda is.

Yeah! Don't criticize Leino's poor and underachieving play on a public message board! Jerks!

But seriously, I hope he's just underachieving because there is a lot more pressure on him right now to perform and he's still so young. I guess time will tell.

If there were no injuries Leino would of been out a long time ago.

You better play like the world is going to end tonight Leiono because once all the guys come back, your donezo.

Donezo in the Red Wings maybe, but there are many teams that have much worse offense than this team (when healthy). Plus, this isn't even his last year of contract.
