Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg, Dan Cleary will return Thursday

Good news for the Detroit Red Wings: Both Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary gave thumbs up to returning for Thursday’s game at Los Angeles.

Zetterberg has been out since Dec. 17 because of a shoulder injury and Cleary since Dec. 9, also with a sore shoulder.

“I feel ready to go,†Zetterberg said after today's practice at the Honda Center.

Zetterberg skated on the wing with Pavel Datsyuk at center and Tomas Holmstromon the other wing today. Cleary was on the second line, with Valtteri Filppula at center and Todd Bertuzzi on the other wing.

This is huge for the Wings, to finally have two legitimate lines again. It also should help their lethargic power play.

Hope we're not rushing them back just so they can get injured again. Also, Osgood should get a start, this is getting ridiculus...

At the moment even if they are 90% they must be back, can't continue with this kind of play lately, must put up some 3-5game win streaks...continue to play with desperation but add these scoring abilities, could turn out very well...

Howard is right about at the #7 goaltender mark in the entire NHL. Do you really want to start Osgood, who may or may not have a solid first game back over a goalie that's playing as well as Howard?

Also, my thought reading about Z/Cleary a few hours ago:

"THANK GOD."

I really hope they can add kronwall at the end of this trip as well or atleast at new york islanders... he was the best d-man on the team before the injury, he would have been back few games ago had he not had that stupid setback

I thought that Kronwall was aiming for the 19th, not the 12th.

I could easily be wrong, but that's what I thought I read. And the setback was because they thought that he might be back early; he's actually going to be back right on time at this point.

Hmm the original report of the sprained mcl said 4-8weeks, been away since 21st november or something? so that would in that case be the maximum time of being out... could have been 4-6weeks but he got out of luck or something

Yeah, it was the 22nd (or at least, that's when he was put on LTIR). So the 12th would be about 7 weeks, 19th would be a bit more than 8.
