Branton87 77 Report post Posted January 10, 2010 Should they have really made this into a big story? It's kinda giving other s***ty fans ideas, isn't it? They should've dealed with it quietly I think. Just my opinion I guess.

Spectators trying to effect the outcome of a game in any way should not be tolerated and the guy should be banned.
Statts 4 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Maybe the ref could call a delay of game penalty to the home team like they do for throwing stuff on the ice? Might be hard to enforce though.

Statts 4 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 what if it's an away fan? I dont know. What if an away fan throws something on the ice? I'd imagine if they made an announcement over the PA system warning the crowd the guy would stop or people around him would point him out.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 what if it's an away fan? They would call the penalty against the team whose fan was shining the light. Assuming that fans know which goalie is theirs, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Of course if they get an equal-opportunity idiot who is just there to annoy people, that kills my plan. Yelling and screaming and banging the glass is one thing, but lasers are potentially hazardous. I'd say find the guy and make him apologize to the team- in a dark alley. The team members may not actually do anything, but they'd be sure to give him a good scare. Or make him clean the goalie's equipment with his tongue.
Guest zackmorris Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Ban him. Fine him. Never allow him into a hockey arena again. Make an example of risk this becoming a trend.
Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 LOFL!!! I'v been to Haiti (poorest nation in western hemisphere), and Canada. Same technology. Did get a GREAT deal on an abacus at Best Buy though. Most inept post of the new decade. Bet you can top it with your next though.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Wow, I was expecting it to be somewhere less obvious like the upper bowl. You'd think that Kipper would be able to skate over to the glass and point the guy out. LOFL!!! I'v been to Haiti (poorest nation in western hemisphere), and Canada. Same technology. Did get a GREAT deal on an abacus at Best Buy though. Fail. Edited January 11, 2010 by Hockeytown0001

adubs 8 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Vancouver is full of rich immigrants who don't respect the game. Calgary is the same. Not to say that the guy was one of them because I have no idea but going to a Canucks or Flames game is considered trendy. They don't go because they love hockey. They go to show off how rich they are in their 500 dollar seats and so other people can see them there. This may sound like a mean post but god they piss me off and this just reeks of something they would do. This post is perfect. Before 2004 tickets were a dime a dozen. Now it's a hundred bucks a piece for high second level corner tickets.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 I hear were getting internet on computers next month! They didn't have internet or light lasers when I lived there. Of course, I moved back to the States around the time Maltby was born, so that might have something to do with it...

I agree that the guy should be banned and punished and everything, but I was just saying by making it a big story they're giving s***ty people the idea of bringing a laser to the hockey games they attend.
