Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Where was the goalie interference calls? I've had temporary blindness from those red laser lights when someone got it in my eye. If someone had shot it into Kipper's eye, and he allowed a goal... that's hardly fair.

If someone had shot it into Kipper's eye, and he allowed a goal... that's hardly fair. To be fair, Kipper's a rich immigrant, too. Generally, in a battle of rich immigrant vs. rich immigrant, I'm staying the hell out of it.

But we don't know if the fan WAS a rich immigrant. The simple fact is, a ref should have seen it, called security and had the guy kicked out, or had the laser taken away. Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) I'm sorry but this is a new low in tactics to win a game. Find this idiot and banish him. I agree completely. Criminal charges if possible. Then again, Vancouver fans aren't known as being some of the most classy around. Then again, using one moron as a tool to criticize an entire fanbase isn't exactly high up on the classy meter either. Russian Houdini 8 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 The laser has been used in the Uefa Champions League for soccer the last couple of years as a way to distract players. Once when Manchester United played in France two years ago Cristiano Ronaldo had a laser pointed at him throughout the game. UEFA, the sanctioning body for European football gave Lyon, the French club, a 50,000 euro fine and banned the guy for life from any game in France. This has happened a couple of times and the result is always the same... a fine for the club and a ban to the guy who did it.

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 And, if it happens again; from Globe and Mail : The culprit is still loose, ready to strike again on Monday when the Nashville Predators face the Vancouver Canucks at General Motors Place. The Canucks and arena staff are still searching for the fan who brought a laser pointer to the game Saturday against the Calgary Flames. A green beam of light was occasionally flashed into the helmet of Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff, and it had Calgary head coach Brent Sutter fuming after his team's 3-2 shootout victory. “If they do it [again], fans will have to wait because I'll pull my team off [the ice],†Predators head coach Barry Trotz said when asked if he was concerned about a repeat or copycat incident. “Everybody thinks they'll get their 15 minutes of fame. It's brutal.†A Canucks spokesman said that staff are reviewing two sets of videotapes, and are attempting to “mirror†the arena surveillance footage with that gathered by game broadcaster CBC. ... Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Tip for NHL investigators. Check facebook, Myspace and Twitter. I bet 100 bucks that the MORON would post about doing it, just to show off. The Canucks and arena staff are still searching for the fan who brought a laser pointer to the game Saturday against the Calgary Flames. Here's a tip... he's probably not still in the arena. Russian Houdini 8 Report post Posted January 12, 2010 who exactly does "Russian Houdini" refer to? Pavel the Escape Artist Datsyuk? It makes me think of Leino - like the Finnish Copperfield and his disappearing act. There is only one magic man for Detroit, and that is Pavel.. as far as I am concerned.
