Maybe we're smart enough to realize that there are top players in the lineup right now not putting forth consistent efforts every night.

You're relying on Kronwall and Franzen to come back from injuries and carry the team. God knows when they'll be back, who'll be injured until then, and what kind of shape they'll be in, let alone how many points we'll have to make up until then.

This team needs to go on a run now, and not wait till late March or what not.

To be a true fan you cannot talk negative about the team and you must support the team and every one of its players no matter what.

Hey, all teams above us have been better than us this year, which is why we're 9th and they're in the playoff picture. They don't lose 6-0 to the Islanders, and beat teams like Washington and Pittsburgh.

I'm right when I say that we currently don't belong in the playoffs. The teams above us are more consistent, hence they have better records.

Tough s*** if some of you have to swallow that fact.

I know the odds aren't in our favor, but if LA loses we are only 1 point out of the last playoff spot. That's not so unrealistic. We CAN do this.

Still, those who are still in doubt in us making the playoffs I just LOL at you. So we sit like 5 points back of 5 in the West? By my count we have over 30 games left. Since when did the season end today? The team played well up until the last few minutes of the third period. Also, stop singling out individual players. This is a team sport and while Bert may have taken a bad penalty and Ozzy screwed up here and there means the team just didn't play well enough to get a W.

This team cannot sit back forever. Those other teams ahead of us play games too and they win more than we do. Last I checked, those 8 teams want to make the playoffs.

Damn, we could have had 6 points these last 3 games. We probably should have. Instead we have 2. That is pretty damn hard to swallow.

3 straight losses is not good in the position we're in. Still, I like the way we're playing. Bertuzzi killed us with his penalty tonight, but we had so many chances to put the game away and we didn't. Guys need to score.

Not blaming Ozzie for the loss but I'll happily see him ride the pine for another while. Just feel safer with Howard in net. I realize Ozzie hasn't played in a while and is cold, but we don't have to time to work him into things right now.

The defense was great for chunks at a time, then they decided to forget what position they played in little segments in between and it really cost em.

Datsyuk isn't a goal scorer, he's not going to be able to change his game. He needs to set up Bertuzzi/Zetterberg.

Zetterberg needs to shoot and score he doesn't have any other option he is our only true goalscorer.

Bertuzzi had a bad game all around, hopefully he can move past this and not dwell on it.

Our depth players are playing as good as you can hope. They are doing their best.

Flippula/Cleary need to step up, which I think they did to an extent tonight.

Pretty much our first PP unit has to score if we are going to win games.

Osgood wasn't bad, his five hole is a major concern of mine though.

It's weird, it's frustrating, but it's also exciting. Have some fun with it.

And lets face it 46 friggin shots and nothing to show for. WE did not capitalize on the shots. Imagine if the Caps rattled off 46 shots on Ozzy today. I think it would have been 6 goals on Ozzy. WE played Ovechkin really well , and the only thing I can say is the Wings just f***ed up the last 10 minutes of the game. Whether it was mental errors or Ozzy can not close his five hole that is the bottom line.

I guess there is no point in saying it, but there are many kinds of fans and I don't believe one is better than the other. Those who can be critical of their team and their performance and those who hold out hope and faith. Being cynical and being hopeful can be good things, but of course going to extremes in either can really bother those on the opposite side of the spectrum.

So, if I take the evidence as I see it and think this team may not make the playoffs, does that make me a lousy fan? If I ignore the evidence as others see it and have faith they will somehow come through and show up when it counts does that make me a better fan? Some people need to vent and some people need to hope. I don't see the problem with either.

on the plus side... Kipper is back to his old 5-6 goals a night self... and Phoenix has been sucking of late. Luckily I think the West will keep us in this race until we start looking like a team again.

That's definitely not what I said, and it's not what anyone else has said either. You can call players out, you can call the team out. They deserve to be called out right now. It was a dumb penalty by Bert tonight. Ozzie didn't play as well as he should have. I love Leino, but he needs to step up. Pavs and Hank need to play better.

But to just give up on the team and cast these aspersions is ridiculous.

1. Tell Ericsson to never ever pinch when he is playing with Lebduh

2. Hit Bert with goalie stick everytime he takes a penalty

3. Tell trainer to sow Ozzies pads together
