Guest Howard He Do It?!
Just put Osgood in and let him have 3-4 consecutive games and see how it goes... can't be worse than howard was today.. (yes whole team was brutal but howard was very bad today)

How was he very bad? The first goal was bad, but come on.

Kings out-worked, out-fought and out-played the Wings tonight. They had great hustle and energy and battled their way through the game. They finished their chances too.

Oh how I wish the Wings would display some of these qualities.

Only Franzen and Kronwall are the major players missing (I don't count Willy), and yet the Wings look tired, old, and lacking in energy and fighting qualities. Plus our two guys on 6mil+ can't seem to score a goal.

It might be the best thing that ever happened if they didn't make the playoffs. They might actually rebuild properly. Enough of guys getting constant games no matter how bad they suck.

Can't believe they'd suck this bad against LA, knowing the 8th place situation.

Bummer.

Its apparent from the last two games the Wings and Kings have played, that Los Angeles is a better hockey team than Detroit.

What a piss poor effort by Detroit. It doesn't matter if you string together 3 or 4 good games (especially when you manage to lose them) when you lay a ******* stinker in a game that really really means something in the standings.

Awful, just god awful. Lebda and Ericsson where dominated every time they were on the ice, and Bertuzzi, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk played like bums. The only player that looked good tonight was Filppula, and besides him it looked like 11 other third liners out there.

If the Wings can't string together some decent hockey for ONCE this season right away, this team has no chance of making the playoffs, which is inexcusable seeing as Phoenix, Colorado, and Nashville are all able to stay in the top 8 consistently. The injury excuse is old - tonight they lost because 95% of the team dogged it. One or two players wouldn't have changed it.

it has been the same every night.

Yeah it has been 2 weeks we've played well.... It's more like we've been able to play at least for a full 20mins period.

Another disappointment tonight.... I hope this new decade won't be the recall of the Dead-Wings era.

at what point do we panic? You guys said don't panic after 10 games, then after 20, then after 30, then after 40, then after 50, whats next? GET KOVALCHUK NOW!!!!

They aren't getting Kovalchuk. Maybe ten years ago, but it won't happen now. That would be too awesome and it would make too much sense.

The Wings money players f***IN STINK! Not one of them can be counted on to push the Wings to a win when there is a need to win a big game. Lidstrom Datsyuk nor Zetterburg has the balls to demand better from themselves or the rest of the team......It's sad to say but the three of them together have less leadership than Yzerman...

And I Repeat!

At least the argument that the team plays better in front of Howard can stop.

The only good thing that came from this game is the possibility that Lilja may return to the lineup.

i really hope this team misses the playoffs. i'm tired of this limp-dick effort. "oh wait, we're down with 5 minutes to play, time to actually try".

that's how it was last year too, but we had guys like Hossa and Franzen to be like "oh we're down? I'm gonna go score two goals"

Hell yes!

Price won't be THAT high considering its his final year. I'd say Flip + Leino + Lebda/Eric + pick if need be (as long as were pretty much guranteed to resign him)

Richard Bernstein, no one will ever take you seriously as an attorney.....ever.

Maybe, but I read on this board that he is really quite bright and teaches at the college level.

Thank god looks aren't everything, right? Unless YOU happen to look like George Clooney. Then again, he'd never bother making comments like that.

Absolutely not.

There's still no need to panic. These losses and games can be tough to take, but we're still in the hunt. So long as we're still in the hunt and we're unhealthy, there's no reason to panic.

Now if we get healthy, get the guys a few games to get their heads and legs going and then we're still floating around 8th or 9th and losing games like this, then maybe it's time to freak out if that's what you do, or get apathetic if that's what you do.

Right now, as tough as it is, I still feel ABSOLUTELY FINE down the stretch.

It's mindfly. Howard could have stopped 60 shots and lost 1-0 in a shootout and Mindfly would say something stupid.

Ignore it. don't feed his idiocy.

Ignored it will be!

Look out, you're about to get railroaded by a guy who thinks we should bench Dats and give Flip his minutes...

How was Howard bad today? He let in 3 goals. A perfectly reasonable number. The Wings are in the BOTTOM 3 in the league for goals scored. I could care less how many goals Howard or Ozzie give up. It's meaningless. If your team can't score more then 2 goals a game, you're going to lose the majority of your games. Simple as that.

Datysuk and Zetterberg need to STEP IT UP. I can't fathom why their both playing so badly.

Absolutely not.

The Wings aren't playing bad because of injuries. Simple as that. They just don't care. Maybe 2 months ago I would agree, but not anymore. You can't use injuries to explain their performance anymore. Kronwall and Franzen have been out for months! You would think they would realize this and start to get it going. Even with the injuries, the players that are healthy are playing badly. No more excuses. They have had months to adjust.

AND EVEN STILL, the Wings on paper are still better then LA, and they still lose.

Everyone calm down. It was a s***ty effort by the team but you don't really mean the things you say. You're just frustrated. Last game we played against them Howard carried the team. This time we just didn't get that break. LA is the better team this season and I'll accept it. I still think the Wings will make it into the playoffs though. They just need to play against every team with the effort they played with against Chicago last Sunday. With Phoenix losing tonight that gives us a little bit of something to be happy about.

Don't lose faith. We have more points right now than I thought we would a couple months ago.

I'm not going to say getting players back from injury will make this team start winning, but it couldn't hurt.
