1/23 GDT: Kings 3 at Red Wings 2

You'll never stop pointing it out. You'll do it every chance you get. You feed off of it.

Pointing out what? That the team collapses no matter who is in net?

I don't feed off of anything negative because watching Howard do bad is BAD. I don't enjoy the team losing or suffering on any occassion. I think Howard got screwed over against the Isles. I think the first goal tonight was all Ericsson and that the third was all Stuart. I think Howard did great against the Kings last time and has deserved more starts than Osgood. I have STATED this multiple times and have no problem stating it.

I discuss the issue, and if I have a problem with something I point it out. The team collapsed and did not do well offensively. And Howard didn't have some lights out game either.

Any other conspiracy theories?

How was Howard bad today? He let in 3 goals. A perfectly reasonable number. The Wings are in the BOTTOM 3 in the league for goals scored. I could care less how many goals Howard or Ozzie give up. It's meaningless. If your team can't score more then 2 goals a game, you're going to lose the majority of your games. Simple as that.

Datysuk and Zetterberg need to STEP IT UP. I can't fathom why their both playing so badly.

The Wings aren't playing bad because of injuries. Simple as that. They just don't care. Maybe 2 months ago I would agree, but not anymore. You can't use injuries to explain their performance anymore. Kronwall and Franzen have been out for months! You would think they would realize this and start to get it going. Even with the injuries, the players that are healthy are playing badly. No more excuses. They have had months to adjust.

AND EVEN STILL, the Wings on paper are still better then LA, and they still lose.

On paper don't mean s*** it's on ice that counts.

I'm not saying I like the effort every game, but that doesn't mean that I'm worried down the stretch. I have no doubts that we'll make the playoffs (probably 4th or 5th seed) and I imagine our guys will, umm, find a way to play a full 60 minutes.

If they don't, then oh well...it's still not worth flipping out about now.

Have you watched this team at all this season?

They'll be lucky to make it at all with their attitude of half-assed efforts.

Zetterberg needs to ditch Emma and focus on hockey and pavel must start to have fun again... somehow(?) Remove the C from lidstrom and give it to the hardest working player

Problem is, that C would probably go to one of the guys who're rehabbing. Like Lilja.

Why can't the Wings ever want it more than the other teams they play? Every point is important and the Wings don't seem to care if they win a game or not. I hope that they realize that they have to earn their way into the playoffs, they won't just be given a spot.

I remember when this team used to be fun to watch. This season is going to put me in the hospital. Terrible turnovers, sloppy defensive play, our stars don't score and we don't score more than 2 goals a game.

this is the problem with being at the top of the league for 20 years. In the meanwhile, teams like Pit, Chicago & LA were licking the basement floor. Guess Ken Holland isn't that great of drafter afterall.... Hey Zetterberg, here's your lifetime contract, now you can stink up the ice...

Have you noticed the difference in points between, I don't know, 10th and 4th?!?

Did you see the chart breaking down how the Wings have been putting up about as many points as any team in the West the last 25 games or so? I think two teams were better by a point or two, or we were tied for second or something.

Because it was a fair point.

If it had to do with forwards I would point it out.

There is hypocrisy on these boards when it comes to certain players and I stated so. Why are you getting your panties in a bunch? Because it is some way for me to defend Ozzie's honor?

Honestly, if you want to discuss the point then do it. Don't throw me ad hominems as if it discredits my point.

I hate what you said but unfortunately it could be coming true. :(

Have you noticed that all those teams are better than us and play a lot harder?

That's all that counts. This team isn't headed in the right direction. They're too lazy and probably don't belong in the playoffs.

It's obvious who our hardest working player has been. His name starts with an F.

Wow, I think your obsession just surpassed some of the hardcore Osgood Slappy's of the last few years. I hope you're just trying to get a rise out of people.

Except no one mentioned Ozzie until you did and no one came on and said Howard did an amazing job. All this hypocrisy you say? If I looked at your recent post history it would appear the only hypocrisy is centered on Ozzie. Don't get your panties in a bunch for being called out on something that has nothing to do with tonight's game, yet you still post it in the GDT.

I'm not getting into one of these Ozzie debates again. It's pointless and no one will agree on anything. Post what you want. I'm ignoring it.

Everyone mentions Datsyuk a lot, but where has Zetterberg gone? Looks like he got too comfortable with that big contract.

He started off the year okay, but he's been just plain ordinary since he came back from the shoulder problem. I don't know if they rushed him back from that, but he has looked indistinguishable from, say, Dan Cleary since then, and that's not a compliment to someone of his caliber.
