USA BABY!!!! can't cheer for anyone else regardless of the other wings players. Gotta support my local boys with The Bow Hunter(Tim Thomas), The Spartan Warrior(Ryan Miller), The-(boo)Wolverine(Jack Johnson) and the City Boy, born and raised in south Detoit( Bryan Rafalski). Being from Michigan I have to go with the guys who have shared this great state with me for my whole life. If they lose though I'll go with Sweden. (anyone but canada)

Update

Kronwall's flight was just heavily delayed therefore he wasn't there in time, he has now landed and is on his way to the arena

Don't know where you're getting your updates but sure as hell glad you are and that you're putting them on here.

I would have liked to go with Team Finland/Suomi, but they just look so weak this year.

OK I'll go for the underdog again!!!! Suomen joukkue voi haistaa kultaa!

And I'll be cheering for Team Canada simply because of Yzerman. And yes, Team Sweden since half the Wings are on it.

If anything it will be interesting to see how Filppula will play with top-line minutes and responsibilities as well with talented teammates on a consistent basis. I'm a big fan of his so I'll be watching him closely. One way or another my opinion of his abilities will change after the tournament. I hope it does in a good way.

Latvia versus Russia 9pm Pacific Time, are you ready? :P

oh yeah i know its gonna be ugly, but theyve pulled of upsets before. if not, ill be happy to see them play with the heart and pride (heavy checks too) that they bring every game, no matter who the opponent is

:usaflag: obviously first

Sweden because of a good bit of Red Wings obviously.

Then Canada b/c they are the neighboring country, even though they got people that I and I assume plenty here don't like much (Crosby, Perry, etc.). Although it would humor me a bit to see Canada go down early.

The only thing that would make me wretch more than seeing Sidney Crosby with the Stanley Cup is seeing him with a gold medal around his neck that he didn't borrow from Mario Lemieux.

I suppose I should root for the US but none of my favorite Wings are on that team, so I'm pulling for Sweden. Back-to-back golds for Nick and then he can retire.
