Montreal fans must be wondering why they don't have a goalie like Halak on their team. He's never looked that good before.

I also thought the Russian coach dropped the ball on the shootout. Ovechkin isn't the only skilled player on team Russia is he? They should have let some of the other players shoot.

As for Datsyuk, he's just become an unspectacular player that seems to get lost in the crowd. None of what he's best at has been showcased the last two games. He just looks tired and unmotivated to me. Come to think of it, he's looked that way before in All Star games and international competitions before. It's like he's too shy to play selfish. They need to take him away from Ovechkin, because Ovie is a puckhog, and Datsyuk is not used to playing without the puck.

I saw the highlights of the shootout, what were the Russian coaches thinking not putting Pavel out there to shoot again? It was nice and all that Ovechkin scored, but Pavel is the shootout ace. Yeah, he got pokechecked once, put him out there again and he'll use that experience to his advantage. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Nice win for the Slovaks, though, Hossa looked awesome in this game.

If it was a hockey, team Russia played yesterday, I'm Muhammad Ali... And I'm most certainly not...

At times, I thought I'm watching pair figure skating: Semin - Ovechkin, Malkin - Gonchar, Kovalchuk - Afinogenov, and nobody else around them never ever existed. This was anything but a team... Bunch of over-hyped very skilled individuals with no real use.

At other times it looked very much like circus, Bears on The Ice. Malkin was hilarious falling left and right all night long... And their tamer Bykov looked very much dumb too with his choice of PP units...

Congrats to Slovak team! A well deserved win.

Halak has looked that good for awhile now. Montreal is just mismanaging their team and he's not given much credit by the media after a good game. Poor bastard wasn't born in Canada so credit as a goalie for him is tougher to come by.

But I've wanted Halak on this team for awhile. He's vastly underrated.

And Malkin needs to calm down when he has the puck. This isn't street hockey bud, nor is it NHL 10, so you don't need to attempt 6 straight dangles through 3 defenders only to shoot it right at the goalies logo if you even get a shot off. I don't care how many points he gets in the NHL, that's a shift killer right there. If you want to C on the Ovie line so bad, try not screwing around everytime you're out there. Oh, and being better than Pav might help too. Schmuck.
