I'm not sure how much verbal language ability has to do with his humor. He's just funny. He thinks in pictures like a true comedian.

For example:

"Pavel how do you describe your golf game?"

"A lot of lost balls."

"You got a name for that signature move on yours?"

(The move he pulled on Turco, Vokoun and Harding).

"Name?"

"Yes, name."

"...Goal."

He just has a way with language sometimes and uses words in a way that many people don't even consider and would rather just give a more typical answer.
