Good game for the Swedes. How did Z and Mule look with Forsberg?

Forsberg seem like he's injured *surprise surprise*, franzen and Z played together after Hornqvist went out after that elbow-to-head-check and looked good together

2 easy.... finns got nothin :P

Although i think they lost on purpose a bit because they wanted to avoid canada/russia in a semi final

Did ya'll notice how solid the swede's passes were, tape to tape all over the ice.

You mean like the Swedes did in Torino?

When Sweden doesn't win in the qualification round then it's called loosing on purpose, but when Finland does it it's just a bad game by them.

If the Finns won, they would have had to play SUI/BEL winner in the 1/4, and then SWE vs CZE/LAT winner in the semis.

Now that they lost, they have to play CZE/LAT winner in the 1/4, and USA/SUI winner in the semis.

All this was known before the FIN-SWE game started.

What exactly would the Finns have gained by losing on purpose?

You really shouldn't throw around unfounded allegations like that.

I haven't been very impressed by Hank so far in these Olympics; he seems slow and lacking any creativity offensively, just like he was since he came back from the shoulder problem. He's been the go-to guy for defensive match ups and the PK so that obviously hasn't changed for him, but while Sweden might not need him to score much, Detroit will when he returns.

Franzen has been great though, bulling his way to the net and letting that wicked wrister fly, just as I had hoped.

He is just like he's been in detroit all year, heck even last season.. he's almost a defenseman.. doing all the hard backchecking down low.. the creativity on offense and scoring touch seems to be gone :(

From ctv olympics dot ca :

Finland's Joni Pitkanen has received an automatic one game suspension and will not play in Wednesday's quarterfinal.

The Finnish blueliner received a match penalty for a hit to the head of Patric Hornqvist in the second period of Sunday's round robin game against Sweden.

Apparently BAG was insulted that the Team Sweden brass were considering other options for the coaching position and so he decided to quit after these olympics. How does anyone think the Swedish players feel about that?

Any updates on horquiest or if franzen has been bumped up to Z's line?

All players will be available and the lines are expected to be the same as before. If you want to see Franzen or Hornqvist moved then you better hope Sweden starts badly against Slovakia, forcing the management to do some changes.

He will coach the world championship in May too, after that his contract is up. No renewal

I know a certain team that should have a defensive coach opening in the NHL next season if he's interested.

Give me a break, he could never coach in the NHL... He would roll 4 lines and have no pp or pk units.. he isnt being an active coach in sweden, hardly does anything at all in-game... <_<
