Great. Waive Rafalski and Cleary, and waive that vaunted "Red Wing Team Loyalty" while you're at it. There goes your chance for signing future free agents at close to reasonable prices, as well as making it harder for us to keep our prospects with "hometown" discounts.

I don't think Lids needs to retire. He's still got another 2 solid years in him. Yes he's not the same Lidstrom we once knew, but he's still better then 80-90% of all the other D men out there IMHO.
