zettie85 106 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 Now that it is official I just want to say that through all the bitching and moaning all year from a lot of people(me included), the boys did it and the streak continues. I'm really proud of them. The faced the adversity very well when it mattered and they got it. Nice job, boys! Next stop SCF's.

zettie85 106 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 We can beat any team we have to play. I know we can. We aren't the Calgary Flames and we are not going to get owned by either of those teams. Why such negativity? We may not win the cup but what we did this year with those injuries is pretty impressive and we have looked very good lately. A team that could make a run. Well if they going to the playoffs they won't get that much needed rest either so look for a injury riddled season next season as well (yeah it's alot due to ALOT of games in little time over the past three years)
Yzermania 156 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 I think I'm happier with the hawks then the nucks, though I think we can take either.
AARedWingFan 13 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 I think we are going to see a different team out there come round 1; a team that can beat Chicago or Vancouver. Whether or not we can keep up that level of play for more than 1-2 rounds... that is my concern. For now, I'm happy for another playoff birth!

Super-hot what? 5-4-1 in the last 10? Got obliterated by the Kings in their last game? The Wings are by far the hottest team in the league, including todays loss. zettie85 106 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 Because when they play like they should, like during most of the 07/08 season, and especially in that playoff they are the most fantastic team... Yes they are. They can't play perfect every night though.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) Yes they are. They can't play perfect every night though. They have played like they should ~3 out of 79 games.. that's some serious SUCKING. Edited April 4, 2010 by mindfly
zettie85 106 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 They have played like they should ~3 out of 79 games.. that's some serious SUCKING. Well that doesn't matter anymore. It's the 16 wins we need starting in 2 weeks that matter. 2 Barrie and wingsgirl001 reacted to this
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 Wooo! Lidstrom = playoffs. We won't miss it as long as he plays. This has been a crazy season. So many ups and downs, so many close games, so many OT/SO losses, so much nervousness for every game.. even though we're still battling for position I will be pretty calm for these last couple of games. Vancouver, San Jose, Chicago, Phoenix.. they're all pretty equal in my book. I look forward to the playoffs, it's going to be very fun. This team could go all the way if everything clicks for them. If Franzen and Zetterberg turn it on like they have the last two playoff runs. If Datsyuk keeps playing like he's doing and Homer stays healthy. If streaky Bert gets hot and Filppula starts shooting the puck. If Williams is benched in favor of Abdelkader. If Howard isn't worn out or buckles under the pressure. A lot of if's, and realistically I see a 1st or 2nd round exit for this team. That wouldn't make me terribly sad, atleast not if they go down fighting, because honestly: 3 SCFs in a row? That would be something. Regardless, I'm proud as hell of what this team has done this year. A rebuilding year that still has us making the playoffs with good chances of making some noise? 29 other franchises wish they had it that good. 3 solnyshko, zettie85 and haroldsnepsts reacted to this
Draperfan 104 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 I think I'm happier with the hawks then the nucks, though I think we can take either. Id rather face the Canucks, their known for their playoff choking, especially with Luongo in net.
Jamaica Jon 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 They have played like they should ~3 out of 79 games.. that's some serious SUCKING. They played just as few "like they should" in the regular season last year... and we ended up in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. This team will be fine, your ridiculous pessimism aside. 1 dobbles reacted to this
