An Alarming Trend this Playoff Year

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I dont know when exactly I started paying attention to this trend, but when I did the research (still in progress actually) I have found one scary trend:

Game Date: Red Wings Tigers

4/14 L L

4/16 W L

4/18 L W

4/20 W L

4/23 W L

4/25 L L

4/27 W L

4/29 L W

5/2 L W

5/4 L L

5/6 W Off Day

5/8 L W

I currently dont have the time, but this trend does go into last year's playoffs as well...

The wings have not won a single playoff game this year if the Tigers won that day...

Another alarming trend: every time someone posts a thread like this, no one cares.

Let the guy have some fun. Everyone knows that those statistics have nothing to do with the actual game, but it's still a fun fact.

Guest Howard He Do It?!

Somebody called in talking about this trend on 97.1 today during the Caputo and Fithian show. Was it somebody from LGW?

Did the host on 97.1 point out that the Tigers lost 4-3 to the Twins on May 4, while the Wings lost Game 3 in OT? Or does that not count because it was past midnight EDT by the time the Wings' game was over? :P

Yeah, that was me that called in earlier today. They kinda blew me off, but I figured maybe more people would comment on it later.

All the trend says is that the wings cannot win on the same day that the tigets do. This means that if they both lose, it neither confirms or debunks the trend.
