Greatest NHL Stories

Hey all, just thought I'd try and get creative with a discussion other than free agency or the playoffs going.

In your opinion, what are the greatest stories of the NHL in its entire history, including things like:

-Greatest comebacks in a playoff series

-Greatest playoff series

-Greatest personal comebacks after injury or sickness

-Greatest turnarounds from one season to the other

Just your personal opinion, not necessarily the greatest statistically speaking.

Off the top of my head I'll get the '97 Wings Cup win out of the way for going such a long time without winning one an resurrecting a storied franchise.

And who was it that came back from testicular cancer? One of the Koivu's, wasn't it? That's pretty impressive.

Mario Lemieux's and Saku Koivu's return to the NHL after battling cancer are pretty awesome stories, and the Wings' 98 Cup run, winning it for Vladdy.

Amazing that Mario Lemieux in 92-93 was 12 points behind LaFontaine when he missed two months for radiation treatmeant. When all was said and done after his return that season. He finished 12 points ahead of LaFontaine to win the socring title. Amazing he average almost 3 points a game.

In the '64 Stanley Cup Final, Game 6, the Maple Leafs' Bobby Baun blocked a shot and broke his ankle. He returned to the ice in overtime and scored the game winner for Toronto. The Leafs beat Detroit in Game 7 and won the Cup. Yeah, it was against the Wings, but that's pretty impressive.
