Happy 50th Prof!! In honor here is my favorite Igor moment...

Some kind of a moment there at the 1:19 mark when Pav comes up to him. The Prof and the student at the time. Just awesome.

EDIT: I need to start looking at the other posts lol! Stolberg with the win there. Oh well its his birthday and his biggest goal.

And who is on the other side of Larionov at that moment? Fedorov. Talk about 3 generations of Russian greats....that right there says everything about that '02 team

It's ok dude, that's goal is worth seeing twice!

Edit: Just watched that clip. As much as we pissed off fans of 29 other teams, I loved the Wings 2001-02 team! They were loaded! I'm home tonight, I think I'll put that game on.

One of the classiest players to ever grace an ice surface, and Pasha's childhood hero.

I remember that triple overtime game. We sat up til past 1AM watching it. The funny thing is that Igor went to Pasha between overtime periods and told him he was going to score the winning goal. Pasha said, "No, you are." And he was right.

Happy Birthday, Igor. You are, and will always be, a gentleman and a class act.

My memory of that OT game? I recorded it on my VCR - on long play - went to watch it the next day and the video ran out before the game ended! Cue mad scramble to find out result! :D I remember the 2002 World Cup was going on at the same time in Korea/Japan and a lot of the players couldn't sleep afterwards, so they stayed up watching that through the night drinking, ironically, a red wine or 2 to help them relax

And one of the canes, I forget who, was on an IV between OT periods he was so dehydrated.

I remember the guys saying they were sucking down Pedialyte to keep their strength up between periods of overtime. Sounded funny, drinking stuff you give your kids when they're sick, but apparently it worked.

Yup. That stuff is full of electrolytes or something like that.
