Ericsson on an Olympic blueline? Yuck. I don't even want him on our blueline.

I know how you feel. I get really frustrated with him too, but at the same time I see flashes of what he could be someday. I have this feeling that he's going to be one of those defensemen that struggle early on and then gets his game up to speed and becomes dominant. Zdeno Chara wasn't very good in the beginning either. By 2014, I think leaving Ericsson off the roster will be unthinkable.

I think they did pretty well, but I definitely don't see Luongo back. Too many good younger Canadian goalies, like Price, Ward, Fleury, Crawford, Steve Mason, and even guys like Elliott, Auld, Bernier, Smith could be in the mix. And I agree, Staal will definitely bee on Team Canada unless we see something drastic happen with either him personally or other Canadian d-men in general.

no Gonchar on Russia ? I don't care if hes having a bad year hes better than most of those defencemen on that list. Datsyuk won't get the C, hes not in his prime and probably won't be able to keep up in points/play in 3 years from now. Datsyuk will never get the respect to wear the C for Russia.

on a side note, do you think Radulov will ever come back to the NHL ?? hes killing it in Russia, has like 80 points in 55 games.

Datsyuk gets mad love. There was a poll this season that asked Russians, who they think is the best Russian hockey player, and Datsyuk won by a large margin.

USA's blueline looks incredible. We could really compete with that team. I love the incredible diversity in player-types on that team. Lots of toughness to go song with all that skill.

I think the whole team looks great

Anyone else think that a 44yr old Timmy Thomas might be a little farther than a close call?!

Yeah, just a little. Although I don't know, if a freak accident happened and close-callers Thomas and Jonathan Bernier had to start for the US and Canada, I think I'd give Thomas the edge. My reaction to Thomas was, "Umm, riiight..." but Bernier made me lol.

The goaltending should be:

Canada; Osgood, Turco, and Lalime

USA: Boucher, Johnson, and Conklin

Sweden: Hedberg, Tellqvist, and Liv

Russia: Khudobin, Trefilov, Shtalenkov
