Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted March 31, 2011 Franzen's always been streaky. People act like he doesn't go through this every year. Give him until the playoffs, if he doesn't show up then, then ***** all you want.

Rick Zombos Ghost 82 Report post Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) Franzen's always been streaky. People act like he doesn't go through this every year. Give him until the playoffs, if he doesn't show up then, then ***** all you want. streaky is one thing....he goes a dozen games then has a multiple goal game. thats not streaky thats having ONE great game once in awhile. if you take away his insane 5 goal game he has 22 goals. Not quite the 40 goals everyone predicted last year..... I take that back about the multiple goal games he only has 2 this year. his longest goal "streak" was in October a whole 3 games.... Broken 16 381 Report post Posted April 2, 2011 Despite the great win today, I'm absolutely hating Franzen's game right now. Too many times he seems to just carry it about 5 feet into the zone only to flip it deep and stare at it.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 2, 2011 Despite the great win today, I'm absolutely hating Franzen's game right now. Too many times he seems to just carry it about 5 feet into the zone only to flip it deep and stare at it. He had one beautiful play in which he sliced right into the front of the net. If he makes that play every game instead of cycling or going wide, I don't care if he takes only one shot a game. Chances are that shot will go in probably 70% of the time if he cuts across the middle with that big body.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted April 2, 2011 Yeah, I still like him with Bert and Abby. We will see what comes of it, but I am guessing positives soon.

He had one beautiful play in which he sliced right into the front of the net. If he makes that play every game instead of cycling or going wide, I don't care if he takes only one shot a game. Chances are that shot will go in probably 70% of the time if he cuts across the middle with that big body. I'd just like to see him be more aggressive. He seems to curl off the play and flip it more than actually driving the net hard.

8 Legged RedWing 367 Report post Posted April 19, 2011 That shot of his is why he is one of my favorite Wings. I don't care what he does during the season if he finishes like that all playoffs. He just doesn't look right with the visor though. Hopefully that comes off after the stitches heal.

I'm with you on that. To be honest, Cleary still doesn't look right with the visor on either.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted April 19, 2011 Regular season is just boring to this guy. I shall grant the credit toward Big E, what a pass, but wow can this guy finish. Love the DRIIIIIVE he has had this April.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I foresee a huge series from the Mule. Looks as if he will be with Flipper and Huds or some sort of combo like that. Release the Franzen!!!
MGreenberg 105 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 Funny all the people saying Mule was trash during the regular season, they should know the Wings pay him big money for playoff points, lol.
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I foresee a huge series from the Mule. Looks as if he will be with Flipper and Huds or some sort of combo like that. Release the Franzen!!! Franzen is a playoff beast. Yea, he has his dry spells in the regular season, but there are some guys who can carry a team on their own come playoff time. One of those guys is Franzen. The numbers don't lie.

Right, but he has even looked slower and I relate that mostly to the ankle and outright facemugging he got from Doan. I think the ankle was tweaked on that play too but could be wrong. We still need him and I want to fill this thread up with the playoff love

brett 1,029 Report post Posted May 1, 2011 I think mules problem is 1 of 2 things. He is either injured still, or he is not back into it since he hasn't skated since game 3.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted May 1, 2011 Or he's floating, just like he did for large stretches of the regular season - and previous seasons. Like I said earlier, when Johan Franzen is lazy, he sucks.
