Opie 308 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 I was watching online and not in HD, was it the puck or J-ho's stick that got White? Either way ballsy, gutsy, necessary play to stop the goal there!! I am very happy with Ian White on this roster, I only hope this is a quick and easy recovery but it looked bad!

Ram 240 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Well, according to Trevor Thompson, Ian White says it doesn't feel pleasant. Hopefully not an indicator.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) I was watching online and not in HD, was it the puck or J-ho's stick that got White? I'm quite sure it was the puck. All the game recap articles are saying that it was the puck. Edited November 13, 2011 by P. Marlowe 1 Opie reacted to this
TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Benn got slashing penalty but not an instigator. Nick was +2, Souray was -2. White saved a sure tying goal (it was still 3-2) with his face. Right after that Wings scored their 4th goal. Wings have allowed only one ES goal during the winning streak. Franzen is the first Wing in about 10 games to have more points than games (16 in 15). Thanks for the info. I really hope White doesn't miss any time, he's been playing very well IMHO. It'd be nice if Mule and Nick kept up their scoring paces. If the boys keep playing like this, once Dats and Hank get going on all cylinders, it bodes well. Side note: during the Jenny Lind scene of Barnum, when she is speaking "Swedish" I talked the student into throwing "Lidstrom" into her dialog for the closing show. I think my wife and daughter were the only ones in the audience that caught it.

Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Good to see we got the win, unfortunately I was unable to catch the game. How did we look, overall? What happened to White? I take it Kindl got decked by Benn?

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Good to see we got the win, unfortunately I was unable to catch the game. How did we look, overall? What happened to White? I take it Kindl got decked by Benn? Wings played fine just like the last four games. A balanced attack and solid defence. Some great energy shifts from the third line of Helm, Abs and Hudler. Stars' defencive strategy was to collaps near their goalie which allowed shots from the blue line. That's how Kronner, Stuart and White scored. Datsyuk and Zetterberg played like they have been for a while: contributing in the offense but not quite getting any results. White dived to block the shot on the crease and saved a sure tying goal with his face. No word yet if he'll miss any games. Benn vs. Kindl wasn't much of a fight. Benn landed couple while Kindl mostly hugged and ended up on the ice. Stars were quite frustrated in the end with Burish crosschecking Stuart after a clean but mostly missed hipcheck. 1 haroldsnepsts reacted to this

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) It doesn't look like NHL.com has updated their stats, so I think Franzen will now be 7th in goal scoring in the league. Considering the brutal 6 game stretch, our players have remarkably good stats. Still early, obviously, but let's hope he can keep it up and get on another hot streak to maybe challenge for one of the top spots. EDIT" Actually, depending on everyone else's goal scoring changes tonight, he'd be tied for 6th with Steven Stamkos. Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Watched the game on DVR, and here is what I took away fromt he game: When Hudler back checks, good things happen. His back check directly lead to Helm's goal. Helm needs two perfect set-ups to get one goal, which is why he'll always be a third liner or lower. Filppula is boss. Zetterberg looked much better than he had all season. Ericsson needs to stop chasing guys in our own zone. It directly lead to the 2nd Dallas goal (along with suspect goaltending) I'm so glad we got White. Kronwall is boss. Lidstrom > Souray.

Helmer has created a countless number of chances with his own hard work and speed. and statistical note: Helm has the 4th highest shooting % of the top 9 forwards, so you can lay off the "hands of stone" comments. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) Of the goalies who have played 10 or more games, Howard is second in save percentage (.934). He is tied for 1st in shutouts, but is ranked 1st due to the fact that he has played less games than the other 1st placers. He is 2nd in GAA (1.66) among goalies who have played in over 10 games. So thus far this young season, Howard has proven he is among the elites in the league. Loving the fact that his stats have been so stable even while the team stumbled. SidAbelsSon 50 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Quite a game for my first time at the Joe! The two glaring liabilities I saw were Big E and Emmerton. I'm hopeful that Big E can regain some form of consistancy and that Emmerton can learn and improve. 1 P. Marlowe reacted to this

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Sorry I'm late but... Kindl CAN fight. He can do a lot better than that, I think he just never really got settled in that one. Give him another chance (not sure if he'll take it after that!) and he'll do much better. Anyway really liking his play this season.
