I know hes missed a lot of hockey and has probably been chomping at the bit to play...but when's the last time you saw Z or Dats with that type of energy in a game this season? Sure, Crosby's the most talented offensive hockey player in the world and would certainly score much more than Zetterberg over a full season no matter what teams both of them are on. But, that doesn't mean Z can't shut him down in a direct head-to-head match-up. So yeah, I'd still take Z over Crosby if they were matched against each other in a playoff series. Unless he really has some nagging injury or something, I think Zetterberg can still be almost as effective as he already has been in the playoffs the last four, five years. I might be being too much of a homer, but I can still honestly say Hank's a much, much better defensive forward than Crosby. Zetterberg outplayed Crosby in a playoff series 4 years ago, back when Crosby was like 21. And a lot of that credit should go to our team defense in general. Crosby played his first game against a team that: 1) Is separated from the lowly Blue Jackets by only one point. 2) Was playing its FOURTH-STRING (!!) goaltender. I'm not hugely impressed. We have this guy named Lidstrom. Not many people have a better resume than him. I don't get why people dismiss defensemen when talking about all-time greats. It always goes to "the greatest defensemen". Sure he has declined some now at 41 but if we are talking about over-all, which I assume you are, since you said "resume", not many beat Nick, to me, he is right behind Gordie Howe in greatest Red Wings players all time and is in the conversation with Gretzky, Lemieux, Gordie, Orr, etc for greatest all time players. "NHLN-US to re-air the Crosby Classic, 1 ET Tuesday" So this game just became the Crosby Classic, jesus its seriously is just becoming a joke with how much they are trying to shove him down the Casual NHL fans throat. Plus, with their 4th string rookie goalie to boot. He always done exceptionally well against this team. A couple years ago Ovechkin had him by 10 points, Crosby played the Isles twice, and they were tied. Talk about his "greatness" when he's not blowing up the Isles or Leafs. This kid is A-MAZING. I don't believe I have ever negged before but this post deserved it. Crosby couldnt not carry Nick's jockstrap.
