Guest The Axe Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Attn: Ken Holland- stop being such a dik and give Nyquist his spot already. He's earned it.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Jason Krog lights up the AHL every year. It's the minor leagues for a reason. I do think Nyquist should get more of a chance, but not because he can score in the AHL.

Euro_Twins 4,477 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 I like Nyquist and I hope he gets a more permanent role on the team, the only problem is in a lockout shortened season it's probably not a good idea to have too many rookies on your team...
uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Jamie Tardif has 20 goals in 38 AHL games. Could have been an NHL superstar by now.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted January 27, 2013 The list of players who lit up the AHL but could not cut it in the NHL is very long.
Ekmanc 586 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Let's hope Nyquist won't ever be on that list then.

I do think Nyquist should get more of a chance, but not because he can score in the AHL. Isn't Jason Krog 35+ and has played 200 NHL games? Nyquist being considerbly younger and showing consistency over a 98 game span shouldn't be nullified because he's in a lower league. I think the technical term for this type of evaluation is called scouting. 1 e_prime reacted to this
Carman 387 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Nyquist will get his chance. They want to use him in the top 6, and he's not needed right now. Why change up the chemistry when the Red Wings are playing so great?

Carman 387 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 They are. 500. Ha ha. They have played well 1 out of 12 periods. 1 point from being a playoff team, off to a tremendous start. Would hate to see us start losing because we are messing up our top 6, they are just starting to get it going. 2 Greatness=PavelDatsyuk and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Nyquist needs to stay in GR because yes, he is lighting it up down there and that increases his trade value. If he comes here and barely plays and when he does get in, doesn't do much, he will not garner us too much in return. He will be part of a package to get us our Sniper Edited January 28, 2013 by LeftWinger
