The only positive that can happen with missing the playoffs is the firing of Holland and Babcock.

Of course, it won't happen, because the owner is too old to care (unless it's about the Tigers)

I agree with firing Holland but not Babcock. Babs builds his entire game around good puck moving defensemen and solid defensive play. Just look at the Canadian national team as an example. The defensemen were the center point of his offense. Of course we had that when we had Lids, Chellie, Stuart, etc.

Every year all of our big guns stop scoring at the same time. There's really not a reason for Alfie, Franzen or Legwand to not score.

I'm leaning very strongly to not wanting either Legwand or Alfie back. The youth have all earned their spots and they would be the ones getting squeezed out if they bring back a glut of forwards.

A change would benefit Babcock as much as the Wings. Coaches move on not because they're no longer good, but because the players just don't respond to them anymore. We need a different philosophy and to shake things up. Doesn't mean Babcock isn't a good coach anymore. A change is needed.

We need to look at Peter Laviolette. Cup winner who made the Finals with two different teams. He'd demand immediate respect and would be a fresh change. Also, as far as I know, he has no strange man crush on players like Sammy or Cleary. Babcock does.

Yeah, the Alfie honeymoon is over. When we came he was great. Not sure why, but he's fallen far. He's starting to remind me of Bertuzzi.
