amato 3,210 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 What top three guy is there top trade for though? I've heard rumors (probably more speculation than anything) that the avs may trade duchene if they can't trade ROR.. Which would be incredible but also cost a fortune. Maybe t.j. sochi? But would he be considered "top 3?" I just don't see any big trades happening.. I think KH saying he'd be willing to part with our 1st/Mantha was just a way to see if there were any potential trade partners out there. I expect the off season will just consist of trading back in the first (although I don't think we should if kylington is available at 19) & promoting within. Helmethead 235 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 Does it make sense to keep Kindl around as the #7 dman? Or Lashoff?
LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 With the big 4 available, I think Lashoff is done in Detroit. Lets see what we have I we sign a UFA and keep or trade Kindl. Kronner - UFA Dekeyser - Ericsson Quincey - Kindl Jensen That could be fine IF that UFA is our first choice target, if you traded Kindl, then of course you could promote 2 of the kids, trade for a top guy and sign a #3/4 or try to sign two UFA's, a top guy and a #3/4... Kronner - Newbie Danny D - E Quincey - Marchenko Jensen Kronner - Newbie Danny D - Newbie Quincey - E Jensen

LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 Oh ya, forgot to mention, that is IF they trade him in the deal with the 1st for a top 6 forward. If not, then man, there is a traffic jam at D!
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 Where's Smith? ...and Jensen makes the club because he's out of waiver options? He's played exactly zero games in the NHL and he's going to be up over XO or Marchenko?
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 If we acquire a top pairing defenseman, I just don't see where Ericsson fits, either. One of the kids will have a roster spot (Marchenko, most likely), maybe two. Smith will definitely have to go, and Ericsson could be decent trade bait as well. DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 Waiving Kindl and eating the cap hit+ paying his replacement doesn't save much. There is zero reason to just dump him instead of keeping him as the 7th and zero reason to have a waiver eligible player sitting in the press box. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this

LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted June 24, 2015 Hey, Racine was a 1st rounder for us, #11 overall! Also his full name (which I did not know until I looked him up) is Joseph Reno Yves Racine. He once had 108 points in the Q...not too shabby for a D-man. He actually played one season with Lidstrom and Konstantinov. LOL he was traded for Terry Carkner... And he's distantly related to Matt Carkner. I guess the genes were extra strong in that family.
