kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 Realistically he should only make a few hundred grand more then Tatar, just for inflation purposes, despite Tatar being the better player last year. 2 consecutive seasons of 27+ goals is not the same as one 27+ season goal like Tatar had, who had only 19 goals the season before that. Technically he has the right to ask for much more than Tatar because hes established a longer track record. Its good for him but not so good for cap reasons. Thats why most of us here are hoping he doesn't push for too much and asks a fair deal.
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 People in this thread will never understand that Nyquist has proven himself waaaaay more than Tayar at the time tatar's contract was signed
kliq 3,763 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 People keeping thinking of Tatar in 2015. If you want to compare Nyquist to Tatar in the context of what type of deal should Nyquist get, you need to compare 2015 Nyquist to 2014 Tatar. 1 kickazz reacted to this
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Yeah, but what no one has mentioned is Tatar only had one season of 27+ goals, and nyquist has two. Nyquist has proved more consistent, so he deserves to ask for more since Tatar signed his deal after only one good season. Why has no one said this over and over in this thread? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Edited July 10, 2015 by jimmyemeryhunter 2 derblaueClaus and number9 reacted to this

BTW I've been thinking about making a username Nyuist>TatarByALongShot just for this thread, maybe that's all we need. I kid people, I kid. 4 mill/year 2 years sticking to it. Nyquist struggled 5 on 5 to generate anything, and Tatar's possession number rivaled Datsyuks. Last season, of all forwards who have played at least 200 minutes at 5v5 in the NHL, Datsyuk and Tatar are in #1 and #2 respectively in 5v5 CF%. Tatar helped drive our offense immensely. DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 Did you read my post. Or kliqs? No one here is arguing about Tatar's performance last year. You said he can ask for more then Tatar but based off last year he shouldn't be because he wasn't very good 5 on 5. I still believe Tatar will be the better player based off all the evidence compared to Nyquist so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 If I had to guess, I would say he gets along the lines of 4.75mil over 5 years. Great prediction 4 mill 2 years ideal. If he's consistent he gets a nice deal. Okay lets be real its Holland so probably 4.75 mill, although I wouldn't be too happy about that personally. Close. And I am pleased with 4.75 for 4 rather than 2 was I was thinking 4.75M x 2 Good call 1 kliq reacted to this
