If anything, it's possible that they sign one of the FA invites from the Traverse City tournament. According to Malik, Stanton's looked solid and is probably the closest to being offered a deal (though, still not that likely). Verrier is a possibility, too. There's always the option of signing him to an AHL or ECHL deal, too. It's possible Detroit doesn't want to commit that last contract to someone this year.
