joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 Am I the only one that thought the wings played pretty good after going down 4-0? Couple posts, couple breakaways, a lot of zone time. I guess Winnepeg is one of the worst defensive teams in the league but it was pretty entertaining if you don't factor in the score. Game got away from them way too early. Hard to win when you're down 3-0 in the first ten minutes
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) the wings played pretty good after going down 4-0? lol? Helm and Abby need to be out of the top 6 and Tatar and Nyquist need to be up there. They're simply not good enough to play against other teams' top lines. Sure they have the rare good game, but neither of those lines are doing anything game in-game out. Helm can't make a single play. s*** even Datsyuk just turns it over 90% of the time. Not worried about Howard. The team was leaving him out to try and it's not like he had any goal support whatsoever. He let in some unlucky goals, that's it. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 About the game. Was hoping we'd own their house and win a close game. Took me about 5 minutes to realize we would be chased out of their gym. No juice, almost all players looked slower than usual. Zetterberg noticed this and tried to steer the ship right but his eye didn't help. Also he was out of juice as well and he can't will his body to things he used to anymore anyway. I'm glad it stayed at 4 goals against and that Larkin didn't get leveled by Big Buff. Hopefully they'll get enough rest for Penguins and Crosby.
dragonballgtz 273 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) The coach isn't paid to put people with people; he's paid to install a system and ensure the highest possible execution therein. And to ensure the highest possible execution would mean to put the correct lines out on the ice. But I get that at the end of the day the players we have are not tough mentally. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 Wanted to add that I thought Jurco looked good despite having some AHL-shakes still. He probably had a little bit more in the tank also. Thought It'd be worth mentioning as many here think I'm against him. Well I'm not, if he performs obviously.
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) It makes no sense to me when people complain about Abdelkader. If we don't have his 11 goals and him leading the team in hits for the millionth time we are laughably soft. A lot of teams would love to have him. I feel people just spit out the same rhetoric witthout focusing on what this team actually struggles with. Abby is about as good at holding onto the puck and creating turnovers as Larkin but nobody would dare say that around here Edited December 30, 2015 by joesuffP

If Z sucks and can still put up as much as he has. I'm wondering how he would be if he had an actual scoring winger. Same goes for Pav. Even as "bad" as him and Pav have been, they've still had better outlet passes than any forward on our team. Even last game. jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted December 31, 2015 I may talk badly about our aging stars sometimes, but they're carrying on the legacy left to them... And it's not like they have clear cut heirs to the throne like they were in times past. Yes we have larkin now, but we just found out he's our future #1c, and kronwall, for all of his faults, was/Is a much better dman than Deke is when lids retired. We've got some stuff to figure out going forward, but ditching what has made us successful the last 25 years is not the way to go about it,
