If its just the knee cap thats broken (no muscle or tendon) this will be an easy recovery with no lasting damage. I recommend 6 weeks of immobilization and then rehab. Source: I graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City School of Medicine online in 2021. So this is good, was worried it was ACL.

Patellar ligament tendon can interfere with the healing process, depending on the severity and direction of the break. As long as the break is immobilized, it will heal on its own in 6-8 weeks, generally.

Fixed.

lol - truth be told - some medical professionals will argue that it’s a ligament

It's one long continuous tissue. That connects to bones at both ends. It would be a tendon if there was a superior and inferior, separated by muscle. But if they are considering it one fiber, it should be a called a ligament.

Ah I see many of us studied at the Ho Chi Minh City Online School of Medicine and Phrenology

We probably all downloaded the same .txt-files that we ran thru google translate. Great school.

True story: My friend got very sick in Mexico when he was 14 so he went to the hospital. The Mexican doctor told him to go home and drink tequila and he would feel much better. He said this advice to a 14 year old.

That doctor? Professor Albert Einstein
