Malkin has been great for Russia. Whenever he has the puck he is making things happen. Ovechkin and Semin have destroyed that line, Ovi isf****** a terrible player other then scoring goals. I think Datsyuk line should be the 1st line and getting more minutes at this point.
Perhaps you're right and his linemates are bringing him down, I just haven't noticed him stand out as much as Datsyuk has. Datsyuk's been way more effective for his team.
I could see Finland upsetting the Russians for 2 reasons:
1. Finland lines up at the blueline and plays 110% D.
2. Russia needs to skate hard to penetrate the wall of D, and Ovechkin, Malkin and Semin have been quite lazy and HATE to chase dump ins.
I agree. The only line on Russia capable of doing anything is Datsyuk's. Probably because he controls the play and is more deadly with the extra ice instead of the one-and-done, me! me! me! on the rush offense that Malkin and Ovie seem to still be doing (Semin's been absolutely invisible). If Finland can limit any penalties, it's going to be hard for Russia to beat Rask at even strength.
Edler Edler Edler. He does a little bit of everything but moves the puck very well. He's struggling with Torts, so we could add him for cheap if they'll move him. He needs to be among our better swedes so he can reinvent himself in Detroit.
What do you mean by add him for cheap?
EDIT: nvm, you probably meant in the offseason after the Wings unload their free agents.
I pretty much only play Club/OTP outside of the GM Connected league I run. My EASHL skater is RD, 94 goals 343 assists +117 in 507 games. Legend 3 card, I only play defense.
We're in rare company! I absolutely love defense, and while I'm kinda forced to play center in club games, the past month or two I'd force my friends to play center so I can enjoy the intricacies of shutting down the opposing team. Also, when no club mates are on, playing D was the only sure-fire win for me in team lobbies or drop-ins for easily getting to legend.
Lately though, as in the past week lately, I started to try out goalie and I'm loving that as well. It's a much different challenge that I'd like to get better at to make it even more enjoyable.
I guess I just really like keeping the puck out of the net more than I do scoring points.
