#2668419 ECQF Game 1 Post-GDT: at Tampa Bay 3, Red Wings 2

Reffing was cabbage particularly to us. Abby's phantom call on Drouin could have been a game breaker, luckily we killed it off. Two dropped sticks lead to penalties, that rule is an embarrassment to the league

That's what Drouin gets for being a terrible human being

#2667151 Mantha

The playoffs is where Darren Helm shines. I've been frustrated with Helm in the top six before but when he recognizes his role like he does in the playoffs and just plays high energy relentless puck pursuit he is a huge asset. Not to mention he's been one of our most productive forwards down the stretch

Helm, Abby and Glendening are very important parts of this team come playoff time. Sure we may lose a game where we only score 1 or less goals but that's the chess game of hockey. One teams gameplan will prevail and one will fail. I'm sure the Caps or Penguins will get shut out sometime during these playoffs but it's not because their offense sucks, it's because they got beat

It sucks but I think people had there blinders on for Mantha. He wasn't ready defensively/positionally. He probably has more to galn from being the #1 guy in the AHL playoffs. The fact that he isn't leading the team offensively shows he still has a lot to learn even at the AHL level. Good for him to get some games in the NHL and get to score in Montreal but I'd rather him take another step in his development than play 1:42 a game like Andersson will be getting

So 29 straight appearances is the record in North American sports?

i see him leading in postseason

Will be awesome to see the how the youngster respond to playoff hockey... Can't be any worse than Gus and Tatar against Boston

AA to me seems to be the type of big moment player. You see he has extra energy when the wings need a boost. You know he'll be flying for his 3 shifts a game

Imagine trading Seguin for nothing

Blake Wheeler, Douggie Hamilton....

That's a great core right there

At least Nyqvist can go through the motions without people noticing him out there too much. Tatar is just a train wreck. Guy forgot how to handle the puck

Moving Z to the third line could be a big rallying moment for the team. Counting on him to score at this point is just ridiculous. There's nothing about his game that suggests he's an offensive threat and yet, we count on him game in game out to be our go to guy.

You're a coach and have been coaching this team for the last three months... in what world is Z a guy you still lean on heavily. AA is probably pissed... ice time is decided by resume. Blashill has no balls to run this team any other way than Babcock has

Whatever happens in the offseason, jurco and smith need to be traded for the sake of their careers. It's doing no good for the wings or themselves

BTW, I'm still waiting for Abdelkader to score 3 goals over his last 12 games to hit 20 and show all us doubters that he's worth that shiny new contract.  14 goals and 36 points in 78 games since his hot start.  Totally worth $30 mil over 7 years.  Can't wait for his decline in 2 or 3 years where they're paying over $4 mil a season for 20 points.

Abby is like the only guy close to his career projections. The fact that he's close to his career high while the entire team struggles so much offensively is one of the only positives of a piss poor year all around. Not to mention he's also our most physical presence easily and protects Larkin like its his job. I can't understand how people can not love Abby he's a beauty

After my rage has died down it would have been very surprising to win two huge games back to back like that given the kind of team we are. Would have been a story book way to get into the playoffs. But the way that just laid down and died was hard to watch. But again, it would have been a very tough win, not suprised they lost but the manner they did was awful
