#2643302 That lazy Mantha....

It's a real shame people here remember Franzen as soft when in reality he was our only too 6 guys with an edge. Other teams hated plying Franzen, in his prime of course

I mean the difference between winning these 3rd period blown games and OT is very small but being what we are to elite is going to take a lot of work. Adding size and strength being a big part

I wish more people were built mentally like Helm, Abby and... A long time ago, Cleary. If things aren't going well offensively they go out and create energy by making a hit

Maybe the organization feels Jurco's offensive game doesn't exactly translate to top six NHL producer so their making him learn the defensive bottom six role? He just doesn't move his feet out there it's crazy how passive he is for somebody in his situation

Jurco plays with no energy. Just seems very uninspired for somebody that wants to stay in the lineup. Looks like he'll be back in the press box soon enough and sadly, it's the right move.

Howard knew that he was scoring on that breakaway. What kind of save attempt is that on a breakaway all he had to do was shoot it right in the middle of the net. That's what it looks like when you psyche yourself out

So who was it here that made me the bet for $50 that Abdelkader wouldn't score 15 this year?

A lot of time these huge, skilled guys take a while to be more assertive. You really have to drill it into their heads that they have this huge advantage that they haven't had to utilize in the minor league. Some players figure it out and some don't sadly. A guy like Blake Wheeler is just in the last couple years putting it all together and using his size and being assertive, a lot of people weren't happy with his play style when he came into the league. Learning the hard way will benefit him just got to keep driving it into his brain
I think the Q is a bad league to adjust from. Unless you're a super star in the making theirs going to be a big adjustment period

Q skating... Due back end of January. We'll be a lot deeper on the back end. I always though Smith and E would make a very good pairing

Dats line needs more speed. Helm is a very fast skater but he's not as quick a stop and go skater as Nyquist or Larkin. He's great to hit with the outlet but not as effective jumping on loose pucks or beating defenders. This team is one high end winger from being one of the better teams in the league. We don't have a back end like the Caps or Predators but our forwards are close to being one of deepest groups in the NHL

Welp, probably had no business getting two points in that one so theirs that. We pretty much have to settle with Jimmy being the worst shootout goalie in the league, it is what it is. He played great otherwise, first star.

Isn't it legal to put your backup goalie in net to take the shootout? I would seriously consider this as Mrazek has been a very good goalie in shootouts despite his minimal attempts

I think the Caps are likely to be one of, if not the very best team in hockey all year. They look great, mostly their defensemen. Probably the best puck movement up ice I've seen this year. They are very good

I liked Pierre's commentary, you can really tell he respects the Wings organization so much. Almost came across as a suck up, but he knows the ins and out of the team that's for sure.

WiiM thinks Glendening is the worst player in the NHL based on analytics, which he's not. Just shows you can't make reasonable judgements based solely on analytics. Another analytic peice a week ago said the wings will miss the playoffs based on their play in the first 22 games. Sometimes analytics go way overboard and are just ridiculous

There's some definite message sending to Jurco. If he doesn't come out balls to the wall tomorrow then idk about his compete level. I wish he would commit to being a physical presence then just go from there.

I think that the line of Nyq-Sheahan-Tats is good enough to be our second then you put Z-Dats-Larkin as our first and then call up AA to center the third

Big Buff would help the PP and help keep the flies off. I guarantee Kane doesn't even look sideways at Zetterberg if Byfuglien's out there too.

Yeah no doubt. That would be a hilarious match up. When does Buffalo play Winnipeg?

The fourth line was getting offensive zone starts. I think our biggest problem with scoring is not giving minutes to the right guys
