#2339136 2013 BlueAdams Where Are You, Line Thread

Posted by joesuffP on 10 January 2013 - 07:01 PM

I don't see a problem with the second line. These lines are great to me other than no Nyquist. We all really like Gus but there's really no room for him unless there's an injury in top six.

#2336247 Linus Omark

I think omark is still a more valuable prospect than Emmerton

Val-Dats-Franzen would be a nice line

#2329459 Where Do You Rank Our Defense?

Nobody really noticed how bad Stuart really was the last 2 years... The way Ericsson performed after injury is an improvement to Stuart

Getting Zetterberg numbers on my blank jersey I just wanted to make sure I can put the C on there.

#2327698 Franzen Trade Bait? Possibly!

Posted by joesuffP on 04 September 2012 - 01:34 PM

I'm on the fence when in comes to Franzen.  He has talent and ability, no doubt about it.  He's also very reasonably priced when it comes to his cap hit and production.  Then again, it seems like a lot of his points are meaningless and/or come in spurts.  If we keep him, I think it would be ideal to keep him on the third line.  He will match up far better against other teams' third liners and be less of a liability in the d-end.

Lol... Meaningless points. Didn't he break Fedorov's record for most GWG's in a season

Yandle is worth it people

#2322358 Bottom Six

Posted by joesuffP on 26 July 2012 - 11:21 PM

I want Brunner and Nyquist to have top six roles... Sticking them in the bottom six doesn't make sense. Take advantage of our situation and let them learn how to score with the best players the world and the bottom six can save our asses here and there

#2322352 Bottom Six

Posted by joesuffP on 26 July 2012 - 11:06 PM

If we head into the season as is our forward line up would look like

Nyquist-Datsyuk-Franzen
Brunner-Zetterberg-Flippula
Samuelsson-Helm-Bertuzzi
Cleary-Abdelkader-Tootoo

If Nyquist and Brunner keep their top 6 positions than our bottom 6 looks amazing... Lots of scoring, speed and hitting. That 3rd line could be a game changer every night. That Nashville series was lost in the bottom 6 matchup. Having Helm playing with some offensive guys would give him his real shot at being a scoring threat every game. Than our 4th line has more scoring than most plus very fast and strong. Having this bottom 6 in place is a Stanley cup winning bottom 6. Beef up the top 6 and D and our team will be solid in all aspects

#2322350 Semin signs one year, $7m deal with Carolina

Posted by joesuffP on 26 July 2012 - 10:53 PM

Our bottom 6 is a huge improvement and our top 6 is upper end in the NHL with two rookies playing in the top 6 anything can happen... If they perform well we could have a deadly top 6 with tons of depth on every line... Our forwards are fine. Everyone is basing our offensive ability based on the worst streak heading into the playoffs of memory. The wings have had one of the better offenses in the leaugue for a long time and we have only gotten better.  That streak and the first round of the playoffs have made you forget about the other 60 games.

#2320004 Red Wings re-sign Quincey: 2-years, $7.55m total, $3.775/yr

Posted by joesuffP on 18 July 2012 - 10:40 PM

Man Stuart was soo bad for 2 years why do people have such a boner for him... Quincey will be a better defenseman this year and people will still think about Stuart as the better option.. Quincey is gonna get hated on here no matter how he plays it seems

#2317541 The Next Move

Posted by joesuffP on 09 July 2012 - 09:05 PM

There will be no trades for a forward this offseason, Holland isn't that stupid. Especially these high profile players where you're pretty much guaranteed to get screwed over. With the FA pool being so bad this year we acquired enough forwards that we can use them to trade for something we don't have enough of, defensemen. Are you people really that short sighted that when you hear a high profile player is on the trading block you don't even take into consideration the shape our team is in right now. We've upgraded our forwards already, now we have to trade for defence. Signing Doan or Semin is all you can ask for in forward department.

I don't thin there's a GM in the NHL that would trade for a top 6 forward in the situation we are in right now

#2317430 PK Subban for Flippula and Tatar?

Posted by joesuffP on 09 July 2012 - 06:12 PM

I would be okay with this. Sucks to lose Flippula but acquiring D is a lot harder than replacing forwards and our offence is already one of the better offences in the league. I'd rather trade Mursak than Tatar though. Subban would fit in nicely about as good of a Rafalski replacement as we could find. Hits, great skater, great shooter, offensively minded.....bad defensively, but brought in this system he would improve as a player. We need people that get under the opposing players skin. Just don't let him do interviews. I could also see a rift between him and babcock. He is the kind of guy who would take it personally to see our stars like Datsyuk and Zetterberg getting cheap shotted though. I would like this trade to happen the more I think of it

#2316661 Def trade on the horizon

Posted by joesuffP on 07 July 2012 - 04:33 AM

The more I think about it, the more I think holland will pick up a complimentary Dman, not a true #1. Which is alright, our team has potential. This is probably gonna piss a lot of people but I see why Holland would do this. Don't build a half ass contender just because you have money.
