I think our puck movement this year in general has been much improved. That's why it's hard to pinpoint why our scoring has fallen off the cliff. I've been impressed by all our defensemen in their own zone. (minus Kindl and sometimes Green) We're not giving the puck away as much and the goals we give up are usually deflections
Welp, our luck had to run out eventually. Dats and Helm looked better. Nyqvist is a complete turd, I really hope he gets dealt before it's too late. He looks even worse in the top six. Other than him, I thought it was a good effort from the team considering they played a tough game last night and against a very physical and liberal LA team tonight. They just have to respond against Arizona
Good road win. Mrazek was once again the difference. Still think we aren't looking very dangerous but they played one of the best defensive teams in the league. Really not liking Nyquist's game lately. He would be my pick to be moved for more size or a defender. Ericsson still but it hasn't cost us
For Mrazek to make that save late in the third with the game tied and his team being outplayed, then they go down and score immediately after is just.... whew. These are the kind of things that happen to very special players. Such a neat and tidy game from him, sprinkled with a bit of magic
Holy smokes can't believe we won this game. All thanks to Mrazek unquestionably. Wings got bullied to the outside the whole game but that's what a good goalie can do for you. I think we were good to not give up very high quality chances other than a few but definitely were badly outplayed.
Ericsson just can't do anything right out there. Sharks have a good forecheck and he missed quite a bit of time so hopefully he can regain his form. Wings got outmuscled badly. Frustrating to watch. Nyqvist doesn't exist in hockey games like this
Mrazek was great. He does a lot of little things that really help the defense when the puck is around the net and he made the big saves when he needed to.
The Wings didn't look very dangerous, but that could be because of New Jersey's stifling style of play. The E and Kronwall pairing was no doubt the worst but I'm optimistic that E just needs time to improve, also doesn't help they were playing a very good, physical forecheck. Smith looks confident out there and making the smart plays in his own zone.
Pretty sure Marchenko led the Wings in ice time again? If this kid had the same amount of hype when he entered the league as DD I wonder what the depth chart would look like. If any defensemen is struggling just stick Marchenko on his pair and he'll turn it around. He's the Larkin of defensemen
