#2612095 Sabres hire Dan Bylsma as head coach

Posted by frankgrimes on 30 May 2015 - 02:32 PM

Buffalo will absolutely see success sooner. Not because of who is behind the bench, but they have been stock piling good prospects for a few years now. Toronto's cupboards are basically empty.

Zadarov, Bogosian, Eichel, Reinhart and probably even more talented young guns I've forgotten. Toronto is already over the moon for that cocky Nylander kid (what has he done at the NHL level ?) the only peice they really have is Morgan Rielly. So for sure Buffalo will be better in the not so distant future their rebuild is ahead at least 2 years

#2612093 2016 NHL All-Star Weekend Logo Revealed

To honest I thought it looked like the Buffalo logo in terms of colorschemes.

That being said happy for Nashville having this game, although the ASG has sadly turned into a joke but seeing Weber and Chara upping the hardest shot speed again, will be something I'll watch

So which Rangers player will guarantee a win in game 6?

Rangers thankfully aren't like that and this series is far from over been a great series so far.

Stamkos will be re-signed so will Kopitar and Seabrook he is part of Chicago's core. They'll move heaven and earth before him

#2609365 Report: Oilers hire McLellan

I'm happy for him and he basically confirmed what everyone knew oilers are going to pick McDavid . Man that franchise is the huge winner this year. So happy for Todd I think he is a great guy and will do very well there

Man if that's true the Blues will jump to the top spot. They have it all size, offense, defense and that grind it out kind of style. Plus their captain is an absolute beast and role model. A Babcock coached blues team watch out west.

im starting to hope Babs leaves just so everyone saying they want him gone finally realizes how important he is to this franchise.

Same here and then people will realize how hard it is to replace the best coach in hockey by far.

I mean Babcock got this team into the playoffs when most people were thinking they'd maybe contend for a top 10 draft pick

Dont want Green, past his prime and injury prone. Maybe in the pre-cap era, but not now.

Agreed I mean haven't the Wings learned by now ? It's not wise to bring in players with a serious injury history or pay a premium for a third pairing defenseman. Yeah I get it Washington has Niskanen, Alzner but Green should have been able to at least get a top two pairing job.

Wings need a big bodied physical shutdown type and someone who can run the PP.

The close to done McLellan signing is not a slap in his face why would it be ? Todd was the first guy Chiarelli and Nichelson reached out to because well he was the first major coach available. At that time Babs hasn't been aviable simple as that.

Buffalo, St. Louis, maybe Anaheim and Pittsburgh - if Super Mario gets involved - are great opportunities for him too. Think about it, Babcock will have the opportunity to coach some superstars or a young team with an upcoming phenom in Eichel not bad not bad.

I think the wings will still make the playoffs and maybe even flourish without Babcock, he is an amazing coach, but I think this team is too stagnant with him here, they're trying to be too defensive while not being very good defensively. They need to play to their current strength and that's scoring With defensive responsibility, but not sooooo much emphasis on defense

This team doesn't have a clear identity whatsoever. Babcock is coaching a style that he believes fits his team best and let's them win...there is a reason why the Wings had to play a defensive minded system against better teams because Babcock knew, a scoring-race would end bad for this team. The defense right now is not good enough to risk something like that plus the Wings lack a pure goal-scorer. Playing an offense minded style would be like trying to force a brick through a circle..

Babcock has been begging for help and Holland hasn't delivered so now he is looking at other options which by all means is his damn right. Do I thinkk he will end up in Toronto ? Nope but listening to a franchise that will increase his salary is never a bad option he can now go to Edmonton and tell them Toronto is offering X amounts of money...I want to coach McDavid but the offer needs to be close to that ==> a very good situation for him, same thing with Buffalo and Eichel.

Also the St. Louis job will open soon (if they don#t extend Hitchcock), Rutherford can bolster all he wants if Super Mario decides Babs is his coach they'll make a strong pitch for him and their 2 superstars are entering their prime...if Anaheim makes it past Chicago I think they'll keep Boudreaus.
