The only thing I hate about Mike Modano is he dives way too much. He also complains about proper calls all the time, it gets really annoying after awhile. He has a "crybaby" reputation and he has deserved it, with that said he is still a very talented player. It's sort of a trade off with this guy. If you're willing to put up with his downside then you will surely enjoy his upside.

I miss Samuelsson. The guy was clutch.

I think Rafi can foresee the future. He knew he would suck after a couple years in Detroit so he made sure he got that NTC.

People value players differently. In my eyes Stuart is way more valuable to this team than some think. He IS our 2nd best D-man most of the time. Wis can hit and fight but we don't need it. We also do not need an aging Marchant. He would just be adding something to this team that we already have a surplus on which is age. If he wasn't any good we would never have got him in the first place.

If the Blackhawks were a human body they've managed to keep their heart and brain, but they've lost some limbs and definitely their balls.

what fans? I'm thinking that everybody jumps off the bandwagon and sell outs are a thing of the past. hahahahhahahaha This is great! If the goal was to win ONE cup and the go back to being an also ran then yes, they suceeded just like Tampa and Carolina. If the goal is to be have a shot at the Cup every year like their big brothers in Detroit, then they failed miserably... Last one out, turn off the lights. The party is over. Why on earth would he want to stay? Everybody else is leaving?

It's not reasoning and it's not logic. It's simply an observation of fact. Chicago won the Stanley Cup by way of Vancouver and San Jose, not thru Detroit. That's all he's saying. Why are you so sensitive to it? And too bad all the Chicago fans are back to watching baseball like usual so you have no one to talk hockey with except the real hockey fans of the Detroit Red Wings.

I think the Flyers are going for a 22 man roster comprised ENTIRELY of goaltenders. Interesting strategy, but they could be on to something.

What a terrible idea. We trade the guy who by far hits more than any other defenseman on the team (top-20 in hits in the NHL last season), and who is our #2 defenseman in the defensive sense, for a #6 defenseman and a washed-out forward? Give me a break. Please list for me three major mistakes he made last season. We already have plenty of speedy penalty-killers. Their names are Miller, Draper, Eaves and Helm. Oh, and I think you're stuck in the 90s, because Marchant's speed isn't so special anymore. What's wrong with having another guy like that? Well, you're proposing that we trade a very good defenseman who comes at a very reasonable price. So he can fight. Big whoop. That contributes virtually nothing towards closing the gigantic gap in skill between he and Stuart. You detest Rafalski. We get it. However, bear in mind that many of us feel he's a very good defenseman. I think having Lidstrom, the only defenseman in the league who makes virtually zero mistakes on the ice, on the team has made you utterly spoiled. Teams pay out the ass for defensemen. We badly needed one after Schneider jetted, and Rafalski was the answer. Devils fans were furious with their GM for making the lowball offer that compelled Raffi to look for employment elsewhere. Two years on, they still don't have anyone to replace him. I think Holland's skill as GM---i.e., not making terrible moves like so many GMs in the league do---has made avid perfectionists out of many people on these boards. Because the team is very good and has no hideous contracts, and because people still want to make improvements, they make frequently-absurd suggestions for unnecessary trades.

actually smart guy who thinks he knows everything, if you did you would know that Ryan got offered 5yrs and that was the problem the 5-6mill is fine he and his agent have said he wants a 2-3 yr deal with the Ducks not a long term one.

i heard from a few places that it could be a 3 way trade with him LA,BOS,PHI rumor is LA wants to move Jack Johnson because they feel they wont be able to sign him when him and Doughty become FA, and the other thing is Gange will go to LA if LA gets Kovy, what i heard not saying its going to happen but here it is To LA : Gange To Bos : Johnson To Phi : Tim Thomas only if they feel they cant negotiate a deal with Nabby those are the "main" players ive heard but could be some prospects or picks involved

Surprisingly, the Gagne stuff does not appear to be about a goalie....Not Thomas, and Not Nabokov (who I now feel is heading to Russia) I don't think it's about Kovalchuk (could always be) ...I believe, this is all about Bobby Ryan...that would be my guess. The Flyers rarely ask players to waive NTC. This is only the second time I can remember them doing so (They asked JR to waive when they signed Forsberg). Ed Snider is old school and very loyal. He would only go to Gagne if he had something definitive that he couldn't pass up. Eklund

You completely missed the point. I wasn't so mad at the stupid asserstion as I was the fact that that guy just got attacked for no other reason then having a differnet view then other people. You're defending points I never attacked. Since you like to put words in my mouth however, I will now point out two things wrong in your post. 1st Bolded Part: Lie. You said it would be "ONE OF the worst trade ideas you've ever seen". 2nd Bolded Part: If you honestly belive this, you are extremly unaware of some of the ridiculous trade requests here. Getzlaf for Zetterbeg may in fact make both teams worse, but it is nowhere near close to the stupidest trade idea posted here. This is not a subjective matter. We've had people make claims that Oltez for Datsyuk would be a good trade. This is undeniably a worse purposed trade then the one mentioned in this thread. In short, I suggest you actually comprehend what I'm saying before you try to defend yourself agaisnt things I never said, and end up making a fool of yourself again. Re-read the posts if you must, my issue was never really with you (I just said the other poster was justified with calling you a dumbass) but rather how that guy was getting treated by the internet tough guys. Don't bother replying, as I really don't want to explain things that have been clearly explained by both me and Harold again, only to have you needleslly and poorly defend yourself, and deny saying things you clearly did.

Marchant like I said kills penalties adds more speed to the team and he can win faceoffs. What's wrong with having another guy like that if say Modano doesn't sign here? Let me know the next time Stuart goes out and does this to a guy who was smashing our team all over the ice.
