And that sledgehammer you're using is winning you friends and serious internet cool points.

They just explained why they "couldn't" review it. And from what I understand, the ref STILL screwed up, because Miller HAD NO PART in touching the puck. I hope the Wings get really really ticked.

Seriously, NHL. What the hell is the point of the War Room in Toronto if you're not going to use it. I'm really starting to hate the NHL refs. In a shortened season, bad calls like that do nothing but screw teams out of goals, points, and playoff spots.

Defensive breakdowns all over the place like in Calgary. The Wild haven't controlled play at all and the Red Wings are making it easy for them.

Where's the call on the bear hug Ericsson got in front of the net?

Well, almost everyone here, as evidenced by the thread the other week about allowing challenges, is in favor of this blown refs call and disallowing the good goal. I was one of the only people pointing out that this exact situation is why we need to allow coaches to challenge a refs call. For "non-reviewable" calls like this...

    Mike Komisarek placed on waivers

In no way is Ericsson a mediocre, overpaid defenseman. If you think that he is Komisarek's equivalent, I can only conclude that you have not seen Komisarek play in the past three seasons. For that matter, it sounds as if you've not been watching Red Wings hockey at all this season, because Ericsson is earning every penny of his paycheck this season.

Ok time to mute the tv. The Oaf's love affair for the Wild is sickening

neither Perry's or Kronwall's hits were bad. what's bad is the veterans not teaching the rookies how to keep their heads up. both hits were delivered clean and the rookies buckled like scared *******.

Wings have been the better team but the score doesn't reflect that. Two bad calls are the difference in this one, plenty of time to come back get the next one. GO WINGS!

His hit was worse than Perry's. Just proving a point about the arrogance around here.

Reunite the Twins. Give the opponent at least 1 line to fear and hopefully the other guys will have something to aspire to.

Red Wings close to re-signing Howard

We spoke of this in the other (Howard is average) thread. I presented his stats and the pay ranges. The rumored talk of 4-5 million fall into the range of earned by performance pay one would expect. As for the future, no GM woth his weight in salt, is shortening the length of term of a proven top tier NHL netminder because of the potential of a 1st year pro prospect. The "worst case" scenario is you end up with a proven NHL #1 and a protege #2, see Vancouver. Even in this scenario Howard won't have the anchor of a contract Luongo carries. Even then Mrazek would need to be locked up and he may choose to hit the open market. One in the net is worth 2 in the bush leagues. so you fans who believe Mrazek to be the next "Dominator" remember he backed up Belfour for two seasons. Even when moved to the Sabres he was a back-up. I can't remember the one guy's name but he was behind Fuhr until he got hurt. goalies take time and the results are unpredictable. Detroit has found a solid #1. I wonder what a goalie must do, slay a dragon(?) to win the hearts of some Wing fans?
