I think the quicker we get Mo and RayRay PAYDAY$ done it gives a clearer picture on what we have in the wallet. At year end they both said they want to be here so thats a positive. 
I am good with Ghost/Sprong walking. I am thinking Simon runs 2nd unit PP and Mo 1st. Goaltending is bit trickier perhaps Mr Y is hedging his bet to see how things go with a playoff run in GR? Lyon/Cossa and split them? Not sure what you do with Husso as you wouldn't go 3 deep with Cossa sitting in the 3rd spot as that wouldn't make sense and buying Husso out makes no sense. 
Going to be interesting to see how things play out.

I forgot about Larkin’s wife losing her baby. When the reporters asked about his year he almost broke down. He’s in a lot of pain and I genuinely hope he gets help and works through it. That was tough to watch.

Ghost provided something we didn't have, but he made Chiarot/Petry/Maata/Holl look like Konstantinov out there. And you can't have a Dman who only plays 15 min at even strength a night, almost exclusively in the Ozone, with almost 60 pts, @ 4+ a year and still be -16. It's no wonder he's bounced around the league to only teams desperate for scoring. He's literally not a Dman. 
He would be amazing as a 4th line forward if you could talk him down to $1 mil and only stepping on the ice on the powerplay. 

It's also why I think Yzerman should focus on a top 4 LHD and not a RHD. Seider and ASP will have the right side taken care of. Get a guy like Chychrun, and Chiarot could play on the right side until ASP is ready for that role. He has experience playing on the right side. 
Also agree on Ghost. He was a good fit this season. But let Seider and Edvinsson run the pp units next season. 

Edvinsson and Seider are absolute GEMS.  If we get Johansson, Tuomisto, ASP, and Wallinder up to a reliable level, we will be OUTSTANDING on the backend.  Im absolutely excited about Detroit from the blueline in.  Forward group is still a bit sus.

We will get there! 3 legit superstars in Larks, MO, Ray, and more young ones on the way. Detroit wasn't built in a day, and the future is bright. 

This is the most exciting hockey we've seen in 10 years. I was fully bought in this season and we played like it all year long for the most part. It sucks SO bad to see them blow it like this. There were absolutely points this season where I thought we were amongst the 5-10 best teams in the league and then we completely deflated in the last third of the season. God damn it.

Cuz u a diehard.  I really had zero hopes of us doing any damage, but wanted to see it too.  Good thing is Edvinsson and Lyon go down to GR for AHL playoffs.

I know we are disappointed as fans, but this is the exact kick in the pants this team needs/needed. 
They probably thought they were giving their 100% to make the playoffs. And they just learned their (what they think is) 100% isnt enough. Its a bitter lesson, but one that has to be learned by every team. You can't coast for the last 20 games of the season and I then expect to make it on miracle goals in the few seconds of the last 2 games.
Now it's on Derek to channel that dissapointment into desire to correct those mistakes and overcome. And on Yzerman to augment personal to make us even better next year.
Kudos to Derek and Stephen and Larkin on the exciting season most of us didn't see coming. You don't go from bottom feeder to cup champ in one season. I trust them to build from here. LGRW!

Part of me thinks Yzerman had playoff hopes when signing Kane - at that time all was going well.
Part of me thinks Yzerman didn't want  to cash in some future assets/picks/etc at the deadline for a shot at the playoffs.
The rebuild continues...I'm hoping there are changes behind the bench.

Yzerman is the least of this teams' woes.....Unless of course we hold him accountable for hiring Lalonde.

Hard to find the words for how unacceptable it is when your season is on the line and you're letting a bottom five team in the league dominate you.

When will this team learn that slapping the puck around (instead of passing) does not work out well? They waste more effort throwing the puck away than any team I've ever seen.

Yah, he's gonna be a HOFer when done.  On his way to 1000 pt + career.  We are so close to having a decent team.  2 crappy defensemen to replace.  Just need Yzerman to have a good offseason.

Dylan Larkin is absolutely unbelievable too. Is there a better leader in the league?

Ghost earned a contract tonight! I am 100% perfectly fine with bringing him back! Kane will be back too! How can he not love the direction this team is headed in the next 3 years?
