Normally I try to stay positive about the Wings, but I have to say this:
It is an absolute joke that Filppula is asking for 5M+ per year. Does anybody remember the last time that he looked dangerous?

Vanek, Pominville, Yandle, and Gaborik are all available. But you're not going to get a sniff of any of them if you start by saying "I'm not going to trade any top prospects or my first round pick".
You know what's crazy, when you add a "dynamic" player to your team it tends to change the team's...dynamic. Strange I know, but doesn't anyone else feel like even a lateral move might be worthwhile here considering our current core doesn't seem capable of getting anything done?

When & if he comes back. It's a roll of the dice this season. AND if he does come back, he's still a 3rd line guy, not the top 6, scorer, that we so desperately need. Please don't get me wrong, I want Helm back, baaaaaaad. But he's not the big scoring punch we need.

I must admit.....Franzen just can't do anything right in my book. Im not saying im right. I'm afraid I have already given up on him. He was a beast in the 2008 playoffs though. I sure wish we had THAT guy.

Well, You're quite wrong. He easily gets knocked off the puck. He cowards at any sort of contact. He doesn't shoot the puck. And he panics and make BAD passes because he really has no killer instinct (nose for the net) On the plus side, he has speed, but rarely uses it. Solid on faceoffs, but haven't seen him take or win a big one. Quite honestly, Flip has been a no-show for most of the season.
