Fta: top assist getter in the Big Ten last year.
  15. The final sentence contradicts itself - they remain far apart - both are certain to be signed before training camp. Far apart does not readily lend itself to certainty. Anyone have any idea what the disputed numbers are looking like? i.e. just HOW far apart they are? ETA:

  20. TSN reporting we signed Kevin Porter for 1 year, no money reported yet. Local guy, not sure what to think about it yet. Edit: My only source so far - Edit 2: Bob McKenzie reporting this is a two-way deal. He split last year between Buffalo and Rochester. Probably a signing to give the kids some competition, let them earn their spots with the big boys.
  21. @DetroitRedWings: UPDATE: The #RedWings have signed Riley Sheahan to new two-year contract. #ATTExtCov

Glendening signed to 3 year extension

@DetroitRedWings: UPDATE: The #RedWings have signed Luke Glendening to a three-year contract extension. Very happy about this. Good for like too he deserves it
  24. "Maybe Ryan Haggerty will be the next coming of Rod Gilbert, who is pretty much the only explosive goal-scorer on the wing developed by the Rangers over the past six decades, and the organization does need to compensate for the first-round draft choices it sent away for Rick Nash and Martin St. Louis. Being aggressive in the college free-agent market represents a way to do that. But the accommodation the organization made in order to sign the 21-year-old Haggerty out of RPI last week — guaranteeing him a spot on the NHL roster for the remainder of the season — sure seems like a dangerous precedent to set. What’s next, signing a free agent — NHL, college, or otherwise — to a contract that includes the stipulation of first-power-play ice time?"
