1/24 GDT: Nashville Predators at Red Wings

Have you looked at the Preds AHL team?? The fact that they can call up guys from huge injuries and still go .500 is a testament to that. Especially since the majority of these guys aren't ready just yet for the NHL.

The Predators probably have the best crop of defensemen prospects in the entire NHL. And as for Ottawa having good depth, are you serious?

I'm guessing you don't remember last Wings season, where half of our line-up consisted of Grand Rapid Griffin players for a good month.

Top to bottom, Detroit > Nashville, aside from goaltending but I've already conceded that.

Umm, if these guys aren't ready to come to the NHL, how does that make the Preds deep? Sure it makes their AHL team good. The Wings have guys in the AHL and those who are scratched that are reading for the NHL. Just look. When Kronwall returns, Lebda (most likely) will be sent to the minors. He is perfectly capable of playing in the NHL, but won't get that chance when Kronwall returns.

Umm, I put that in parenthesis since I wasn't sure, didn't you catch that? If not, take another look. It said to compare Markov (the nasty haired d-man and Lidstrom)

you have to admit though that this team is better than us... maybe not in every aspect but in a lot of important pieces.

I have to admit the preds are better than us? Umm, I certainly don't think so. That game in Nashville we dominated. Last nights game, we dominated (except Vokoun played awesome). I refuse to admit that they are better than us until they can beat us in the playoffs...and even then I'll need some real convincing.

Not only is there goaltending better but their star players actually show up for the game and score timely goals....

I think your blowing what I said out of perportion. I said Nashville is a better team than us in certain positions. Their stong points about their team is certainly stonger than ours. Yes we haver more star players and player to player match up yes we are a better team but that doesn't mean jack. I'm not going to waste my breath trying to persuade you to like Nashville, but you just gotta see outside the box. There are better teams than us out there.

If you're taking into account all of your prospect players, sure, Nashville has the advantage. It's one of the advantages to being a bottomfeeder for so many years.

If you're talking depth as in our 4th line vs your 4th line, there's no way.

Hopefully, if something is to come out of these two losses, it's a kick in the pants to the usually unquestionably dominant Wings that they need to crank it up a notch if they wanna secure the division. If one were to inquire why this didn't happen after yesterday's game, however, I would kindly request of that person to shut up.

Sorry, but I can't shut up about this. Why didn't yesterdays loss make us mad. When I think about how we used to hand out hard checks just a few years ago, it is really sad. How can these guys feel like real men, when they play such wuss hockey. It's like a guy coming up and insulting you, and your mother says. "now dear, just ignore them!" If the damn refs are going to call penalties left and right, then why not really cork somebody to make the penalty worth while.

No, I hate this talk about cranking it up a notch (the Lions love to say this). With what these guys get paid, there should not be any higher notch to go to. Why doesn't Illich put out a press release each game day saying, "Fans, you might want to know that tonight we'll only be playing this game two notches below the top, so if you want a refund, come to the box office.

No trust me I said in certain positions Nashville is better its a few pages back and someone quoted me or paraphrased what I said and could have left out that part but still.

I do like Nashville there a hard working team, but to question my loyalty just because I say something that could be true about the wings in a "bad" way just because a "lesser" team beat us isn't unloyal. Our team obviously have flaws I don't see us winning the cup this year either, but I still root for them... I just don't understand where your coming from.

I agree w/ the offense statement and I agree with the fact that we most definitely need a 1st line center, but when Tootoo and Smithson were on the 4th line that was one of the best 4th lines in the league. Don't jump on me, I'm not saying they were THE best, just one of.

And the first line is normally Kariya - Perreault - Erat, but with Erat being out with a hip strain from last night the lines got a bit jumbled tonight

I'm just saying to me you seem more one sided and closed minded... your telling me that the only team that you like is the Red Wings, and you have no other team that you like? I could care less who ,and if you did like another team that make you unloyal and your not a wings fan because of it.
