Matt 1,049 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 pssst, Timothy. That's what's known as sarcasm. Don't tell Matt. They changed the time. Bastards! (That schedule is the original from back in July. It hadn't been adjusted because I figured the new site would be finished. Yikes!)

vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 Okay, folks, but we need definate confirmations at least 4 days before the game. We don't want to end up not having enough room for everyone, and we don't want to take up any more space than we need to, okay? (Sorry - former restaurant manager here)
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 (edited) I'm in for the thingy while I'm back up in the area but my availability for the sphiel was never as issue to begin with. So, another confirmation. Edited March 22, 2006 by SouthernWingsFan
Muse 3 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 Let's assume Mr. Muse is a "no" and we can sneak him in if he's up to it. I have a hunch he'll be having to cram to get his research project done that weekend.

Kira 451 Report post Posted March 23, 2006 I'd love to but I live three hours away. I'd seriously have to talk to my other half on this one. Alternative suggestion, though...what would you guys think about getting together this summer up here where I live? A weekend campout/get-together party? We've got 5 acres of woods to camp in, and it would be really neat! That way some of the northern contingent could make it too (like Brit, who lives way up in Kingsley) Just a thought... I generally need showers and electricity and my own bed, but a mini road trip would be doable. An afternoon picnic maybe?

Like muse tho, a get-together would still be fun. When I was with the group from red wings chat, we got together one saturday over the summer and had a beach party. Someone even brought a boat and we had a blast. I am up for anything if the day is good for me.

Another forum I belong to is a car site and we get a dealer in Fenton to host a meet every year and it is a great turn out at times. I do not see the problem here... Traverse City would be a great place for a get to gether for a few days... A lot to do in that town and the Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Muse 3 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Kira, I am SO not a camper. I generally need showers and electricity and my own bed, but a mini road trip would be doable. An afternoon picnic maybe? I'd definitely be into a road trip up north, when the weather is good. Like Vladdy16, I'm not a camper, either. She and I would have to get our own hotel. (although if she's gonna sing "Rocky Mountain High", I'm not sharing a room with her).
vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) How about "Sunshine on My Shoulders" or "Thank God I'm a Country Boy"? Would you be "Leavin' On a Jet Plane" at that point? Up north, we might be able to jump on "Grandma's Feather Bed" and discuss "Rhymes and Reasons" of the state of our society. Then you could "Follow Me" and "Fly Away" to a "Starwood in Aspen". After all that, we'd say "Take Me Home Country Roads" and be "Back Home Again", "Lady." Sound like fun? Are those crickets I hear? You changed your phone number?! Muse 3 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 OMG, if I could just get you drunk enough to sing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" on video... that would have to be one of the best blackmail tapes EVER! LOL (BTW, I don't recognize half of the songs you mentioned. "Grandma's Feather Bed" sounds a little creepy, IMO.) "Lady" takes me back to middle school dances (ROFL!) Of course, that also makes me think of Will Sasso's imitation of Kenny Rogers on "Mad TV", and that makes the thought of that song much funnier. Ok, back to topic... Kira, do you have an idea when next year's training camp will be?
Vladinator 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 I have a sister that lives in Traverse City, so I always have a place to stay there... Also have one in Alpena and another near Lewiston, as well as my Grandpa near Lewiston...and my mom lives in the U.P., so Northern Michigan is pretty much covered for me... BTW - as of right now, it looks like my Dad is going to drive my daughter back up, so I should be able to make the get-together, but that may change depending on how the week goes for him (he drives a semi for a living and if he has a rough week he won't want to drive up there on the weekend...) vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted March 26, 2006 WOO HOO, Vladinator's penciled in. Muse, Kenny Rogers "Lady" is a completely different song from JDs and I think "Grandma's Feather Bed" is just about being a kid - no Michael Jackson overtones. And I don't know the words to "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" now, so drunk would be impossible. *whew* One more bullet dodged! How funny that the season's not even over yet and we're talking about training camp. We need a hockey support group.

Kira 451 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Figure somewhere around mid-September for training camp. I'll be there if I have to walk. No way am I going to miss the one and only chance I'll ever have in my life to be in the presence of an angel.
