Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 Kenny is so far the standout player on the blueline at the WHC. Get it done Mr Holland;
Barnes52 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 He's a puck mover, we need crease clearers if I'm not mistaken. Now, if you want to get rid of Schneider and replace him with Jonsson, fine. Isn't he injury prone anyways?

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 Jonsson is a pretty solid defensive defenseman. I would gladly give up Lilja and replace him with Jonsson, even for twice the price. Jonsson does everything much better than Lilja, and with Fischer's salary off the cap, there's room to fit Jonsson in unless Holland does something stupid and gives Manny 5m. EstonianWingsFan#1 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 I can only say that I like the stuff he is doing in Riga right now. Would be a decent pickup. I love the idea of signing him, he wouldn't probably ask too much also. Go for it.
Tommie2 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Former NYI captain Kenny Jönsson, 31 y/o 6'3 220 lbs is coming over from Sweden. He just finished up the Olympics and was named the best defensemen in the Tournament. I think he'd be a great fit on the Wings in a top 4 setting! NO that's not what Detroit needs right now. They have plenty of D-men and young ones who are ready to jump in any time. They need a goalie and forwards who are hungry and want to win now not next year or the the year after. Mule39 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2006 I think he'd be a good signing and would allow Lebda to play on the top defensive pairing in Grand Rapids.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 Hmm , i'd say no , he's not exactly the kinda guy we need , he's prone to concussions , & if we signed him and traded away schider , then if he got an injury , we wouldnt have anyone to come up to be inthe 2nd or 3rd paring. SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 Kenny Jonsson is the perfect fit for the wings right now, he was on the olympic team with Lidstrom, Kronwall, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Samuelsson... He is a bigger guy who can and will hit and push people around, he is SWEDISH (Holland should be on that), and he is only 31. He has had some injury history when he was in the NHL but he used to be a captain for the Isles and I think he would be an excellent fit on our blue line... Imagine if we traded Schneider and added Jonsson... We would have 4 swedes and 2 americans comprising our defense, that would be awesome, but what would be even sweeter is if we got rid of Lilja and added Jonsson... WE NEED JONSSON, especially now that the UFA market is depleted of good sized defense.... JONSSON!!!! Also with the injury thing, we add Jonsson and then add a depth guy for injuries, easy as that!
