Detroit Tigers should have been AL Central Champs!

:scared: Why'd they have to drop all of these games?

A win against kc would have equaled AL CENTRAL CHAMPS!

No, they shouldn't have.

When you get swept by KC, you shouldn't even be in the playoffs.

The Tigers should have won 82 games this year, but instead they won 95 . If someone would have told me before the season the Tigers would win the AL Wild Card I would have been thrilled, and I am. It shows you that a good start is very important. The way the Twins were playing, they couldn't be stopped.

Despite losing the Division Title on the last day, I'm excited to see the Tigers in the Post Season. Anything can happen now! A Yankees-Tigers best of 5 series is going to be awesome! Man I can't wait until Tuesday night! :hehe:

Yeah! Forget the rest of the season, the last 3 games are the only ones that matter! Leyland should write a formal appeal to Bud Selig saying that they don't want the Wild Card spot.

Exactly, when they started off hot during Shelton's HR bonanza, I said that if they finished at 80 wins or above I'd be thrilled. Today sucked, but they have exceeded my expectations by light years this season. Hopefully they can work some magic against the Yankees.

By the All-Star Break I thought we'd slow down and take the Wild Card, and here we are. I know fans are disapointed, but realistically we weren't going to continue winning every 2 of 3 games like were were in June.

It's October Baseball, and we're going to the Bronx, I'll take this anyway I can!

Edit: Actually in August I told a friend I don't care what happens in the final standing, I just wanted to see the Tigers-Yankees go at it in the playoffs. As I said in my earlier post, I can't wait until Tuesday!

And this is why Placido Polanco should be the AL MVP.

Detroit lost 9 games in the standings during Polanco's month-plus on the DL. That's just insane. The fact that after he came back, A red hot Minnesota team that had been rocketing up the standings only just barely squeaked past the Tigers is further proof.

Jim Leyland pinch hit Neifi Perez for Matt Stairs in the bottom of the 12th today. This is your manager of the year folks....

Stairs has done all his damage against righties and hits .217 against lefties with only 1HR...13K's in 46 ABs. He was a clear strike out candidate. Perez has played like s*** but i liked his chances of reaching better than Matt's at that point. Maybe you should think about those things before making a stupid comment about Leyland.

You guys can complain, i'll relish in the fact that a team predicted to finish 4th place took the wild card.

I'm glad to see there's still a few people keeping things in perspective. Think back to the begining of the season. If there's anyone here who honestly says they thought the Tigers were going to make the playoffs, they're lying. I was hoping for an 85-77 season this year, and I thought that might have been pushing it.

I'm 26 years old. The last time the Tigers made the post season I was 7. That is a long ******* time. Hell, there's a whole generation of kids who have never known a Tigers team that even played above .500.

I know it's easy to get frustrated with what happened to end the season. I know I am. But at the same time, this is October. It's a magical time where anything can happen, especially in a short series.

And no matter what happens in the playoffs, it's impossible to call this season anything other than a success :)

It's for the better that they lost and got the wild card...

And how people can ***** after what the Tigers did this year is beyond me. You realize we were spoiled to death correct?

I think everyone appreciates the very pleasent suprise of the Tigers this season, but I think some people are just releasing their frustrations a little because their kind of falling off the map pretty quickley the second half of the year.

The only thing disappointing was losing the division title in extra inninngs of the last game of the season. :(

In general, we should be thrilled with a spot in the playoffs - only 4 AL teams - I just HATE playing the Yankees - and they're kicking the Tiger's ass right now. :(
