mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Shocking the Pistons do this. I actually thought they wouldn't this year. They always get bored, and lose focus. It's a joke. They could be resting right now, but now have to go back to Chi-town, and hope they can pull one out. I would not be suprised if this goes 7 games.

Unfortunately the Pistons live by the that "If it ain't rough, it ain't right" mantra. This team can and should represent the East in the Finals. Once there I think they'll be at full alert. Even though the West has outclassed the East this season once in the Finals anything can happen ('04 anybody??)
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 The Pistons will coast into the finals obviously at this point. I really wish they would play any other team besides the Spurs. I hate the damn Spurs. Plus, I think they're the one team the Pistons will have a hard time beating. The fact they threw some dirty tricks to cheat in their series vs the Suns just puts a whole cloud over the NBA for me anyways. I'm gonna barf if I have to watch Tony Parker play in a series. :puke: Two points. 1. the conference finals are completely boring because the NBA doesn't use the NHL system where the top seed always plays the lowest one. That way you never have the two best teams playing in the second round - and the anticlimactic conference finals. 2. Supposedly the Spurs have homecourt for the finals. Huh? The Pistons are the 1 seed the Spurs are a 3. So they go by record. But the Pistons won their division and the Spurs didn't - happens in hockey all the time. Their system sucks. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted May 26, 2007 Are you joking me?! The Spurs will have home court?! What a bucnh of crap! Tonights game was scary...thank goodness LeBron isn't clutch!! Yup. Remember the arguement against UM last fall - they didn't win their conference? Well the Mavs won that conference, SA is the 3 seed, but they still get home court - BS. Personally, I don't think the Pistons can beat them in a seven game series w/o the home court. I will never count this Pistons team out, but it is one team they will struggle with. And I hate them which makes it worse...

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 Pistons lose in 2OT. We're done, this team is done. I'd expect some major trades during the offseason because it's clear this team no longer has what it takes. 5 Conference Finals appearances on the trot and only one freaking title. We're stale, we NEED change. Let Billups walk because he'll ask for an arm and a leg, but then again we have no depth at the PG position. Let Webber walk because he can't even run or jump anymore, absolutely horrid signing he was. Done and done this team.

I think Flip is a decent regular season coach - HORRIBLE playoff coach. He got outcoached tonight by a guy who shouldn't outcoach anyone. Cleveland has ONE player - the Pistons play absolutely no defense - they should be able to limit one guy. What an embarassment. If they had got/get to the finals and get beaten by the Spurs, that's one thing because there's a championship team. But to play lackluster against a team with one very young superstar and a crew of journeymen is just insulting. I'm actually insulted as a fan (and angry obviously). If they lose this series, I say yes make major changes. New coach, some new players, everything....

Sergei Fedorov91 24 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 What the hell is worng with Billups? Is he thinking about that upcoming contract too much? If you cant shoot at least run the offense and don't turnover the damn ball. Also, what happened to Prince's defense on James? Lebron with 29 of the last 30 points for cleveland? Double team maybe? Or at least send Dale Davis in to knock his ass down 5 times. Rasheed you need to step up in game 6 and drop 40, and end this selfless crap because nobody else wants to play as of now. Tonight may be the end of this era of Pistons basketball. At least we got one title out of it. Pistons, please make your last stand memorable.

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted June 2, 2007 Prince should be the first name on the trading block. Not potent enough offensively and his defence is vastly overrated.

mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 Pistons need changes bad. If this team stays together it will do the the same thing next year against the Bulls or Cavs. I hate Flip...he needs to go, but I don't think he will. We can let Webber go. I hope Dice/Billups stick around. This team will look different next season. We might not have Billups, and we won't have Hunter for sure. I hope we draft Acie Law from Texas A&M, and MAYBE pull a trade for Garnett. Getting KG probably sounds dumb, but it could really happen...he played for Flip, and the Wolves will probably trade him next season.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 3, 2007 (edited) Prince should be the first name on the trading block. Not potent enough offensively and his defence is vastly overrated. Do I sense Wings-talk-attitude blending into discourse on the Pistons? Give me a break. This guy has been fabulous in EVERY SINGLE other playoff series he has played. Also, I challenge you to find someone who can guard LeBron and still have energy to score. Agreed. This team actually has the talent to win. If they lose this series, I say yes make major changes. New coach, some new players, everything.... Typical... they ONLY made it to the ECF for the fifth year in a row.. give me a f***ing break. Spoiled fan. While everyone is asking for a major overhaul in this team, would you make this move?? Rasheed, Rip and X number of draft picks for Kobe Bryant?? And turn the consummate teamwork team into a one-man show? No thanks. Edited June 3, 2007 by Crymson
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 Major overhaul? Not quite. Before the panic talk sets in, remember this is exactly how the series against Cleveland went last year, and the Pistons still came back and won. Though I honestly have my doubts if we have any chance at all against San Antonio, if we even do beat Cleveland. Some changes do need to be made though. I'm in favor of dumping one player as of right now: Chris Webber. Absolutly brutal so far these playoffs, and when he doesn't suck, he's just invisable. He'll be gone, and rightfully so. One other change should be the obvious right now: Can Flip. He's being totally outcoached in this series, and as shown last year, he's a bad coach in the playoffs. He's not getting these guys ready for the games at all, and the fact that we almost blew that series against Chicago pretty much proves it. We should have sent Chicago packing in 4, at the most 5, but they actually took us to 6 games. That's the worst part of it. I just have no confidence in him as coach anymore. Still though, the team is not in need of a major overhaul. Other than Webber, there are no true lazy floaters on the team, like last year with Ben Wallace. The Pistons still have a good core, and guys like Prince, Rasheed, Rip, and Billups should all be kept. A major overhaul will get the team nowhere, and blowing the whole thing up after the team made to the ECF doesn't make sense to me. Just my opinion though.
