mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 Still can't believe MSU took down ND. Lerg played his rear end off though, and MSU fully deserved to win. Very good win. By the way Jack Johnson is going to the Kings...tear. Can't say I blame him though...good luck Jack!
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 Check this Jack Johnson video out...even if you don't like U-M. It's pretty funny. I kind of worry about the created though if he had that much time on his hands to make it
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Amazing that the Spartans were able to derail Brown and Notre Dame. Anything is possible now, eh?

Icer 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Frozen Four baby!!! Bring on those Blackbears, we owe them from last year! I'm shocked MSU got this far. Still, it was a nice surprise this weekend. Both games were on Comcast Local but only on tape delay so I avoided the local news, sports channels, radio, and newspaper so I wouldn't hear the scores and watched the games like they were live. In the opener, BU came out fast and scored the early goal but the Spartans pretty much dominated the rest of the game. I wasn't that surprised since BU has played hot and cold all season and they just gave up after the Spartans took the lead. The Irish game was the big surprise. Lerg was awesome. I'm not sure how he kept some of those pucks out of the net. The 09 line (Kennedy, Crowder, Abdelkader) played some of their best hockey of the year and got that game winner on hard work alone. But the biggest reason the Spartans won this one is they beat the Irish at their own game. All season long ND jumped out to an early lead then clamped down the defense. Instead it was the Spartans that jumped ahead and held on for the win. ND wasn't built to play a catch up game and it cost them. Now it's on to St. Louis. BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 The stage is set, Michigan State and Boston College. This is going to be a tough one, BC is the hottest team in college hockey.
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 BC is badass, but without question MSU can beat them. U-M beat them earlier this year so I can't see why MSU can't
Icer 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 (edited) I was sooooo pissed when Comley put the Sprague line out there to start the game and they promply gave up two goals. Comley scrapped that plan in a hurry and the Spartans clawed their way back into it. Sprague and company redeemed themselves by scoring the go ahead goal in the third, but I am going to have a stroke if that lines starts against BC. Championship is on ESPN at 7pm, Saturday. BC is badass, but without question MSU can beat them. U-M beat them earlier this year so I can't see why MSU can't BC also got crushed by ND 7-1 back in October. On the other hand, BC beat Wisconsin twice this year. MSU got shut out against the Badgers. Edited April 6, 2007 by Icer

Minnesota, Wisconson, North Dakota, Michigan, Boston, Maine, Notre Dame, and a few others all could have been in the finals this year.

Icer 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Lerg was fantastic in goal. He's my MVP. And Abdelkader pounds home the game winner with only 18.9 seconds left. He's Detroit property so we might get to see him in a Red Wings sweater in a few years. National Champions, baby.
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Yeah, not taking anything at all away from Abdelkader, but I thought Lerg should have been Most Oustanding Player. What a great game as well, very entertaining.

If Lerg doesn't make an amazing save on that 2 on 1 MSU doesn't win that game. Looks like next season MSU and ND should be the favorites to win the CCHA, along with Ferris
