theman19 47 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 www.spectorshockey.net spectors reports that with Tuckers offensive production this year and last that he'll demand alot more money on the ufa market than the leafs are prepared to offer. Captian Mats sundin is expected to eat up the bulk of there cap after resigning several other key players. I know alot of people on this board absoutly hate the guy, but then alot of people hated Chelly when he was a blackhawk too. Personally given our lack of grit, and our lack of pp production, i think tucker is a perfect fit, espically given his energy in the playoffs.
Howe's Bony Elbow 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 Yeah, much as I hate to admit it, Tucker would be a nice addition to our team.If the Leafs totally tank, we can probably tempt them with a Hudler or one of our prospects. I hate Tucker's guts, but I have to concede he's exactly what we need right now.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 I think we do need a player like Darcy Tucker. I'd just rather it be someone that's less of a cheapshot artist. I did hate Chelios before he played in Detroit, but I thought he was a great defenseman and respectable player. Tucker... not so much on the respect... interminded 1 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I'd welcome him. Of course we do not like him now, he plays for Toronto no less.. Indeed we need a player LIKE Darcy Tucker, but why not get the real thing, Mr. Tucker himself. For a reasonable salary, he's welcome in Detroit in my book. rage 24 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I'd love to have him here. If there is one team out there that could use a Tucker, it's defiantly us!!
Barnes52 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I love the guy, he's all heart and grit. He does whatever it takes to win, and makes no apologies for it. He also will back up his actions, and stick up for his teammates. I'd buy season tix if the Wings signed him.....from Chicago
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Let's face it, he has every single aspect we need. - Top two line winger. - Solid on the PP. - Gritty. - Can hit. - Puts in a whole lot of effort. Unfortunately, his name is Darcy Tucker, but it sucks because he has EVERYTHING we need. I would probably like him on Detroit. He's an agitator, and agitators usually end up to be a favourite player on the team, and a hated player on opposing teams. Bring him here!
Doctor G 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 Tucker would be a good pick-up. What would be the price? The Leafs need everything, so it will be interesting to see what they want and what they get. Besides if Tucker comes here, he can help J. Wooley find his teeth.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I find it a little funny that everyone was up in arms about Drake's hit the other night, but are falling all over themselves to bring in Tucker. Several times in his career, Tucker has thrown the exact kind of hit Drake leveled Lebda with. Like I said, I like a lot of Tucker's qualities, but I'd prefer a guy without the history of cheapshots (charges, elbows, knee on knee hits, hitting a guy with his helmet during a fight). Guest wingsfan28__ Report post Posted December 15, 2006 im not crazy about tucker ..........sure hes having a good season but i dont think hes worth 4-5 million per , id rather get a shane doan or ryan smyth .......sorry but thats just me , the guy is only 5'10 we need to get some bodys over 6 feet tall , hes -10 this season and was -12 last ........hes -61 in his nhl career which tells me hes not a good defensive player or he played in crappy teams .......anyways sure hes having a good year but he aint worth all that money he wants and i think we'd later regret it

I'm not up in arms over the hit, that's Drake's M.O. I'm upset that the Wings wouldn't respond, to me there's a difference.

Well, I think you're in the minority Barnes. Many people were pissed about the lack of response, but even angrier about Drake's cheapshot in the first place. I full agree we need a guy like Tucker, I just can't get excited about seeing Darcy Tucker wearing the winged wheel.
