Battle comin' up yeah, but dats has played fewer games. so he's still winning the ppg. the way z's playing i don't see him having much trouble slipping away, however. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 WOOO! Nice win by our boys! That first goal by Hank was a beauty! All that patience surely paid off. Beautiful! Cujo had a great game for the Yotes. I have to mention him because I still have some love for him. But hell yeaaah. GO WINGS!!!!! 1 point behind the Preds AND league. datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 it's hard to believe zetterberg doesn't have a hattrick yet as much as he shoots and as talented as he is. WOOO! Nice win by our boys! That first goal by Hank was a beauty! All that patience surely paid off. Beautiful! 1 point behind the Preds AND league. Woo HOo!! ken brought up a good point during the game and that's the perspective that it'll be good for the wings to have a close race for the division lead coming down the stretch just so that they have something they're striving for as opposed to last year where they ran away with the prez trophy early on and didn't have much to play for at the end of the season (and consequently went into the playoffs without any sense of urgency)

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 Jeremy Roenick, ever the good sport, took a run at him while he was trying to clear the puck on a PK. He caught Markov awkwardly and defenseless; he left for the dressing room (precautionary) and did not return. I haven't heard any word on his current status... daniel1 32 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 it's hard to believe zetterberg doesn't have a hattrick yet as much as he shoots and as talented as he is. Woo HOo!! He's too unselfish.. if there is such a thing. He could have had it tonight, but he didn't even try when the net was emply, he passed it over to a more open guy. He did the same thing the other night to get the puck over the Cleary for the empty netter to try and get him going. Zetts impresses me just as much with his character and team first play as he does with his talent and hard work.
datsyuk_13_fan 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 "He doesn't get enough credit for being the elite player that he is," Phoenix coach Wayne Gretzky said. "He's definitely in that group of players. "Unfortunately for us, we have to face him too many times." Zetterberg smiled when Gretzky's comments were relayed. "He's the best player we've ever had and when he says stuff like that, it makes you happy," said Zetterberg, who is in his fourth NHL season so very true

I mean, we always knew how fantastic he was here in Detroit but it's nice to see his quiet determination earning him a well-deserved reputation.
Kira 451 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 Good game tonight...glad to see Henrik get #100...and Pasha is only three away from it himself. That was a pathetic call on Homer, by the way. Cujo should have been called for blatant stupidity.

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 Guess who's (unfourtantly) back in the lineup now? Oh God!!! Don't tell me!... it seems like every time Lilja is finally out of the line-up, someone gets hurt and he goes right back in. One of these days he will score a natural hat trick upon a return to the line-up. And then go back to sucking. He will at least have had the second to last laugh however, which to him, counts more than you know. Roenick was an ass for that hit though. You know how guys' bodies are near the boards after following through on a shot... and that bodycheck didn't need to be like it was. Hit him, but don't drill the guy, not like that, not there. It makes me wish he'd just have hung up the has-been skates already and not been there tonight. But Hank's goal was gold. I'm thinking that stalled wraparound was even intentional... that he knew Cujo would follow and easily get to the other side of the net, so he wouldn't bother with an ice-level wrap. At first I thought he only did it because he saw him cover the area, but it looks like Z didn't even make that move for the post. "You did good, son." When you are behind in the game by a goal you are going to hit hard, not to intentionally injure but maybe to send the guy to the ice and give you team a chance to score. I'm not happy that Markov went down, but that is part of hockey and the hit was clean. As far as Zetterberg, if you watch the slo-mo replay you will notice that he lost the puck for a second while attempting a wraparound. During that time Cujo went down, so Zetts went hight when he got it back. It was actually lucky he lost it because I think otherwise it would have been blocked. tazzer82 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2007 Apparently, it's not completely out of the question for Markov to play tonight. Defenseman Danny Markov was injured late in the third period when he was hit into the boards by Jeremy Roenick. Trainer Piet Van Zant said it was an upper-body injury, and he wouldn't rule out Markov playing tonight at St. Louis. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../702080456/1053
