Guest toolz19 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Hope not. Never know with the back and spinal stuff. People seem to be a little too excited seeing he hasnt played much the last 2 years, not to mention coming off major back sergery. PLEASE not another UUUWWWWWEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! really hope he can return to his old form. He'll be a great fit for this team.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Well seeing as he played the full 82 games last season, and 7 games this season, that means he has played well over half of all the possible games he could have. He shouldn't be too rusty, it may take a couple games for him to find his momentum, but he will.
Zion 93 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Maybe he'll smoke Lang "by accident" and make him actually play.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Very well could, but I hope not.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Again, let's bring up the Uwe Krupp thing. Is this the only thing that crosses peoples minds? And to answer the question, I certainly hope not.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 It worked alright for Forsberg in '02... he missed the entire regular season and smoked everyone in the playoffs. Bert is supposed to be back 8-12 games left in the regular season so he will get a few games in before the playoffs. Plus he has been skating for the past few weeks so he isn't entirely out of shape. HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Again, let's bring up the Uwe Krupp thing. Is this the only thing that crosses peoples minds? And to answer the question, I certainly hope not. Yeah basically it's going to be "Is Calder the next Cross" until he scores another goal and "Is Bert the next Krupp" until he actually plays in a game. Standard LGW panic... interminded 1 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 People, Senor Bertuzzi hasn't put on a Red Wings jersey yet. This is 101 % speculation. Maybe he'll do great, maybe he won't. How on earth should we know at this point ?????

FinWing 26 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Good to hear Bert was very much involved in the drills in his first training and Babs was impressed.
hockey&beer 16 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 In my eyes there are two differences between Krupp and Bert: 1) Bert has a lot to prove with past history and simply trying to maintain his NHL career. 2) Bert never played for the Avs, which is why I believe that Krupp pu$$ed out for two years but still could race his dogs and such. betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 We're not tied to Bert long-term like we were to Krupp. Therefore, if Bert's back gimps up this year, we're not stuck in a long-term relationship with no hope of getting out. Plus, if Bert signs a longer term deal and then can't play, the CBA allows for cap relief, which means the money isn't tied up and we're not stuck with a deadweight spot on the roster.
