rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 It was. Kocur and Maltby went in on a 2-on-0 (if memory serves) and made two quick passes between eachother before Kocur redirected the last pass into the top corner short side. no, thats not the one I am thinking about. Kocur stole a pass at the blueline and walked in alone and did a little stick move and threw it in the net
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Chris Osgood's strongest game of the year? I think so!

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 It did seem like the Predators spent their load in the first period and the Red Wings gradually started to control more and more of the play since then.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 It did seem like the Predators spent their load in the first period and the Red Wings gradually started to control more and more of the play since then. did seem so. I expected the Wings to do this, after such a dismal game on Sunday. In addition, they were playing a top team, so they played up speed, to win it. Rather than do their usual trick of playing sloppy against a less superior team. I guess that's a good thing, right?
Lazerbeam 13 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Was just thinking what the Wings lineup would look like with everyone healthy? Calder has been a real boost to this team!!! but with Bertuzzi, Zetts, Cleary, and the Mule in the lineup what lines would you go with?? Bertuzzi with Lang & Hudler--but Hudler will probably have to sit if everyone is in the Lineup (healthy)..its a nice dilema to have for the playoffs!!! Airborn 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 When they showed him on the bench you could clearly read his lips while yelling "FRATZ! FRATZ!" to get Hasenfratz's attention. I'm sure it was something along the lines of calling it both ways, but I'm sure it included a few colorful metaphors that'd make ME blush. Interesting. Babcock usually doesn't say one word to the officials. I'm glad he did tonight, and I hope the Wings follow up with the head of referees (I think Stephen Walkom - sp?) about tonight's game. wingschamps 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Then you're not remembering what game/series it was. That 1st period tally in Game 1 of the 97 Cup finals was the only goal he scored in that series. He also scored in Game 1 of the 1998 Finals, but that was redirecting a cross-ice pass at the goalmouth from Doug Brown. i posted right above his post there. kocurs was the 2nd of the game. That could be good or bad, depending on who they are.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 i posted right above his post there. kocurs was the 2nd of the game. I remembered it as soon as I posted, haha. It was *Maltby* that capped the 2-on-1 with Kocur. I think it was Kjell Samuelsson that fell down (blew a tire) with Kocur breaking in alone. You're right rwfan... Just had the goals switched up. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) What a game! I am BEYOND thrilled for Ozzie. He was excellent between the pipes. Made some huge saves when the Wings were up by 1 and that made all the difference in the world. He looked very sharp out there and damn it I am just so happy for him! Two wins in a row against the Preds for him! THAT IS TO EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU BASHERS. How fantastic is it that my three faves are the three stars of the game! OH HELL YES. Huds is turning into something eh? Just like us Huds people said from the beginning *NN, Funky, Offsides, Myself..etc* We said give the guy a chance because he's one hell of a player..and well lookie lookie! Btw, anyone catch the Ozzie interview? He's a class act. Keating was telling him that with how well he has been playing late that the Wings now have more than one *option* in the playoffs as in maybe Ozzie could start some games. Ozzie then replied "No, Dom's been great all season and he deserves it. I'm just here for whenever Mike needs me to play." Ozzie is one of a kind, talk about an excellent team player. Even the RARE times he gets compliments he deflects it and puts it on someone else. Tonight was kick ass and I can't wait for tomorrow! GO WINGS!!!!!!!!! Vincanni 1 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Congrats on the win tonight Wings fans, your team proved me wrong! Thanks, hoping the Canucks (and it's looking that way so far) can keep Minnasota closer to that 8th mark in case we take the division from the Preds.

tazzer82 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Somebody needs to add that line to their signature; it's a classic! Just added it to my signature. Great game tonight, and the best thing is that Nashville got 0 points out of it. Ozzie was strong in goal, and I loved seeing him stop Kariya on the partial breakaway. Tootoo is a little *****, and I hope someone rails him in the game tomorrow night, Babs should throw Booters out there against him and let Booters beat his ass for throwing punches when he wasn't ready. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Hudler is playing great. When you consider he's not much of a defender, checks in at about 4'4"/125 lbs. and can't particularly skate, it's amazing how effective he is as a scorer. He's earned his ice time. Calder is terrific. Huge upgrade over Jason Williams. I realize that the list of people who aren't an upgrade over Jason Williams consists of only my name, but still. Filppula is a player. Really glad he got that breakaway goal. It felt like a reward for a really hard day's work. Osgood had a great game. He really came up big when they needed it. I'll be at the game tomorrow night. If you're there, look for me. I'll be the angry drunk guy.
Airborn 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 do you guys think maltby sits when everbody gets healthy? i just hope huds doesn't. maltby or sammy. No - I think it will be Hudler, assuming we ever get a full lineup. As much as people complain about Maltby, he's a good penalty killer, so I think Babs will keep him in just for that. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him sit, if nothing other than to get some fire into him. He's just not the same player he was a few years ago.
