Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 You're right on. Best post on here. This is quite shocking coming from you! Soooo how do you like the Wings this year? Oh dont get me wrong, id still pick the Flames in a series against the Wings. Just a matter of betting 10 dollars instead of 10,000 on them

Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 They've lost pretty much all of their character players. Vancouver and Minnesota scare me more than Calgary. Even though theyve got Luongo theres just nothing else there really. Vancouver smells of one and done! Minnesota you know i cant like...not enough team toughness! That pains me. I disagree, by the way. lol If it makes you feel better just root for the Wings to play Dallas, Minnesota, and Vancouver each round and i'll be picking them for the Finals! Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 Ack, I HATE picking teams to go against in the playoffs. Buf if I must, I must. If I had to choose, my personal choice to play in the playoffs would be Columbus, Chicago, or Phoenix. Who's with me?
CrazyCanuck 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 Why would that be ... pretty sure Detroit has the best home record in the league. But then again, you did blink, sooo ... If you look at the season series thus far, Detroit has lost both home games to Vancouver. So if we play you guys, I hope you have home ice advantage!
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 I wouldnt mind playing Aniheim , but Dallas or San Jo se would have to catch them.

rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 we need to go in confident, expecting to win... not going in scared seeing all the firepower the other team has. We have just as much, if not more firepower than any team going into the postseason. I have no fears because I know we have a team that can compete this year. Zion 93 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 San Jose a "sleeper" team? Not a chance we want them in the 1st round. We'd be clobbered. Same with Anaheim. Fortunately, we can't face them. We'd beat Dallas, Minnesota and (if they could even make it) Colorado. Calgary would be dangerous, but beatable. We do NOT want San Jose in the 1st round. DreamsofHope 2 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 Knowing that everyone will disagree with me on this, I think it would be good to face San Jose in the first round. I don't want a team even remotely easy to beat, because then I feel like we'll develop bad habits for the second round. If we can beat San Jose we can take it all. If we can't beat San Jose, we can't win it all anyway. One round, two rounds... all the same to me. If you got to avoid a certain team, it's no point in contending. WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 is any one else really paying attention to colorado, im really hoping they make it. there only like 6 points out and playing pretty well. i see them as our best option. knocking calgary out of the playoffs would be great, plus they would easily be the weakest team in the west. plus most of the red wings avs games this year have been pretty good. You thought the Wings-Av's games were good this year? I thought they were boring as hell. Guess it's just a matter of opinion. I see the only way the Av's would make it is if Calgary went on a long road trip at the end of the season. I don't think they do though, so I highly doubt they'll make it. Manoir 70 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Colorado 4 pts behind Calgary now. I think another Detroit-Colorado series would be cool. The history of the great rivalry aside, it would be Bertuzzi playing against the Avs. I wonder if that whole Steve Moore incident would play a factor in the series to possibly rekindle the rivalry. Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Colorado will take the 8th playoff spot and the Flames will be sitting around in a state of shell-shock. I didn't think Colorado had much of a chance until today, but now I believe they're going to do it. Goaltending will be their downfall come the playoffs. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Anaheim and San Jose I would be most fearful of. I still think Calgary would physically manhandle the Wings in a series, so win or lose, they'd pay a price I'd rather not see them pay. Those are the three teams I'm least optimistic about the Wings facing. By the way, I don't particularly like the matchup against any of them. The West is pick your poison this year. No easy matchups at all.
sibiriak 84 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) The wings have winning record this year vs MIN, DAL, COL, NSH, and CAL (2-1), of the potential Western playoff teams. There's no way we could face NSH in the first round, and MIN/DAL could finish anywhere from 5 to 7. So I say, let's win the West, and then our most likely opponent would be COL or CAL. Both beatable.
