eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 there's a reason we were in the hunt for luongo and wanted hasek and even considered belfour. And it was that we wanted two veteran goalies because Howard, Liv, and Macdonald were not considered ready for an NHL job.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Well Manny isn't Chris. And Manny will never ever be the goalie Chris Osgood is. He'll probably be the regular seaosn goalie Oz is , but not the Playoff goalie.
gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Well Manny isn't Chris. And Manny will never ever be the goalie Chris Osgood is. Manny had a great run for us though. But Osgood produced a Cup! haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 The fact that the Wings went courting Dom and were looking at other goaltending options when they already had Ozzie signed is a pretty good indicator of how they feel about him starting. I'd be surprised if Ozzy had the starting job next season. It doesn't sound like Howard is ready, so I'm guessing once again it will be the goalie carousel here in Detroit. Herr Hockey 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Anyone else think its going to be Ozzie in Nashville and Dom against Dallas next week? I can picture that happening. And btw, what ever happened to that new Hasek style mask he was getting? Edited March 19, 2007 by Herr Hockey
Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Could JOSE THEODORE be an option? Just recall his best days in Montreal, that guy could still have it.I am not sure about the cap room though,. Oh good grief, no! The guy is a primadonna who can't control himself off of the ice, and he has currently been replaced by a rookie. Not good. Oh how I love this article. Is that the same thing you got from the Detnews, Crymson? Osgood wants to be #1. http://www.mlive.com/weblogs/snapshots/ind..._03.html#244845 You will be starter again, Oz. DON'T YOU WORRY! You know that realistically, barring an injury to the actual starter, this won't be the case.. right?
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 Anyone else think its going to be Ozzie in Nashville and Dom against Dallas next week? I can picture that happening. I'd prefer the reverse, given each goaltenders historical and recent dominance over those squads.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Could JOSE THEODORE be an option? Just recall his best days in Montreal, that guy could still have it.I am not sure about the cap room though,. Given the current conditions he is in, being that he lost his starting job to a rookie (Budaj) and with the amount of money he makes that probably wouldn't be a good idea. If he could ever redeem himself he could be a very good goalie, but more than likely no. He's had such a bad past couple years, it's very unlikely he'll redeem himself. The most likely case for Theodore: He'll be waived and offically be the highest payed goalie in the AHL. The way the rumors look, that might just happen. Not too impressive, I must admit. Biron might deserve consideration but as for the others, no way. EDIT: Oh and Giguere is alright as well. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 20, 2007 Philly is gonna go hard after Biron and will probably lock him up. Giguere ain't bad. I'm surprised Backstrom is up there; is that correct? He's been great for the Wild, but he's still inexperienced at the NHL level.

He's been great for the Wild, but he's still inexperienced at the NHL level. Does he really want to stay in Philly? If so, then we can probably forget about him as well. Yeah Backstrom is good but he's a rookie at the age of 29. He would be a risky choice and I think the interest in contract extension is mutual in Minny.
